Fix that and this place is holden.

Bed is comfy and bathroom is very spacious. Furniture and appliances are very modern. Staff is very friendly and check in process was a breeze. They have free hot breakfast in the mornings and usually some kind of mixer in the evenings which is a great touch after a long day at work. The rooms already look beat up and there's a lot of little things that, to me, signal management is not trying to keep up standards. I think you can do better for the same or slightly higher price in the area. The desk lamp doesn't even have a shade on it - just a bulb hanging off the socket. The chair in the room has some stains on it. I'd be putting a towel down before sitting in that one. The coffee at breakfast is so weak it's more like flavored water. The coffee maker in the room is missing the tray to hold the coffee packet. The microwave is not plugged in and you'd have to move the massive dresser to get back to the plugs. In sum it's price is competitive with other similar level hotels in the area- but it's not up to Wyndham Garden standards; I'd expect this in a truly budget motel. Recommend you look elsewhere. We sure will next time we are traveling this way.

The lady at the check in was super nice to refund us though when she realized that our door didn't lock and there was blood on the pillows and a blood stain in between the beds as well. Also, a thin layer of dust covered the entire room. But the mini fridge did hold all our leftovers from the BBQ spot, so that was also nice. I bet they are still in there though as we left them when we ran out. I bet traveling clowns love it here.

They have this really great Texas waffle maker. I mean, the waffle is big, thick and shapped like Texas! It's the coolest! Room is clean and orderly, walk in shower, and everything works. The room I stayed in had USB ports in the lamp base which is nice. Parking is free, well lit and apparently safe. The price was just a bit better than other places we stayed on this trip, about $140 plus tax etc. We go this way about 2x per year and if the timing works out on the drive we will not bother to shop around in Texarkana. We have a home base here now.
