Unlike many similar properties, the management and staff understand their mission and their purpose. When you arrive, expect to be greeted and treated like a welcome guest. The common areas are clean and very functional. There's only one elevator, so be patient. The rooms are cleaned to the highest standards, and you'll never find yourself in a room that isn't ready for you with maintenance issues. If for some reason you do have a problem, you'll find a friendly staff ready to ensure you are satisfied and happy. Be prepared to be treated well and appreciated. read more

Dirty stained carpet in room and throughout building. Cardboard used to hold shower curtain rod on both sides in place. This stay honestly felt like paying to sleep in someone's grandfather's 1970s basement. The entire place is extremely dated and poorly maintained. If you have pet allergies or any sensitivity to mold, I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere--the air quality alone was concerning. The beds were old, sunken inner-spring mattresses that felt like they could collapse at any moment, making it nearly impossible to get a comfortable night's sleep. On top of that, the air conditioning unit was so loud it constantly disrupted rest. Overall, this property is in serious need of either a complete renovation or closure until major improvements are made. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to others. read more

Not sure what's going on but this is not like your usual Hampton inn. It is dirty and smells strange. Like the carpet is old. The free breakfast is supposed to be from 6-10 but they ran out of everything before 9. I won't be going back. read more

Stayed in this property for two nights last weekend. It was fine. Highs and lows. The location is right off the highway and is adjacent to a gas station/mini mart combo. The majority of stores and restaurants are down the road a bit in central Williamston. We used Hilton digital check-in which was good because I didn't see anyone at the front desk any time I came or went from the building. The room was older. I've seen many iterations of Hampton Inn properties. It feels like the public spaces and hallways have been renovated but the furniture in the rooms are definitely outdated. For me a big sign of a lack of attention to detail: the elevators still have the COVID guidance signs in them from 2020/2021. There are massive floodlights in the parking lot that shine on the building at night. They are extremely bright and, even with the blinds fully closed, felt like daylight coming through. Breakfast was good, the Hampton Inn standard. While leaving the hotel, we received the best service of our stay. Quite a few people thanked us for staying and wished us well. This property is ok and one of the limited ones in the area so if it's on your way, it's a fine property. read more

The rooms smell musty and damp. The carpet in our first room (326) was wet. So gross. Even left shoe prints in the bathroom floor. So, we moved rooms (225). Same smell. Mold in ceiling in 225 means it's a long term issue... Mirror in the room 326 wasn't clean. No closet in 225. At checkout, they said the carpets were recently clean and they are in the middle of a much needed upgrade. I hope they address the stagnant moisture issues. People were nice. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was fair - typical make your own waffles and old fruit so we skipped and went to McD. How do they have high ratings? read more

On October 11th I stayed at Holiday Inn in Williamston and encountered the roaches pictured in this review. When I left the following Monday I contacted their manager, Miranda. It took two days to get a hold of her to finally discuss the issue. She stated that she would talk to the owner and call me back about issuing a refund but she never followed up. As you can see, the picture on this review has a time/location stamp to prove that these roaches were indeed in their hotel during my stay. If you are thinking about staying at this hotel, please know these roaches are going to climb into your suitcase and you are taking them home with you! And their management does NOT care and all! Also, they did not have hot breakfast, in addition to paying for the roach-infested hotel, I then had to spend money on breakfast for my kids. read more

This hotel was TERRIBLE!!! The pics online looked decent for the price but upon checking in I was thoroughly disappointed!!! I only remained in the room because I didn't get into town until 1:30am. It was 55 degrees at night and the "heater" was blowing cold air. I had to sleep fully-dressed. The wash clothes were stained and looked dirty even though they had been "laundered". I refused to take a shower in a bathtub that had still had suds and hair in it and fingerprints on the metal rails. There was a hole in the wall from where they may have been domestic violence or someone flinging the door open wildly. And the pool was essentially a junkyard for old supplies. I will start with the positive - the front desk staff was very friendly. Once I got to my room however, it went downhill. I immediately went back and asked for new sheets because the ones on my bed were not clean. Every appliance in the room had a thick coat of dust on it. You know how hotel rooms come with complimentary travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, and lotion? The ones I was given weren't even half-way full....I don't know if this was done out of laziness or cheapness. I had only been in the room a few hours and killed 2 spiders. The spiders weren't their fault, just added to my frustration and lack of sleep. The cleaning crew here really needs to step up their game. All people want is a clean room. read more

Bad coffee, rude desk staff and a very old hotel. We used our Hilton points for this stay but the front desk charged my credit card three times. I questioned the front desk but was told oh corporate must have done that. This location has no hot breakfast and their coffee needed to be thrown out two days ago. Before my review, Hampton Inn-Williamston had no Yelp presence. Let's change that... This hotel is ok. I had read some awful reviews of other places to stay in Williamston and found that the Hampton Inn was the best of all the reviews I had seen on other sites. That's not saying much... again, it is just ok. The room is nothing special. The place is safe- a very good thing, and they honored my request to have a room away from the elevator where this has been a huge issue at other Hampton Inn's I have frequented in the past. Even without the elevator sound, I could hear doors slamming in the hallway all through the night so it wasn't the best night of sleep. The room was clean, along with the bathroom- always a plus. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was nice. There were plenty of hot foods, fruit, and pastries available. If you're familiar with the area, you know that there aren't many sites so this hotel isn't going to bring you any wonderful views from your room, but if you are looking for a safe, decent place to stay in the area, you can count on Hampton Inn. read more

This is going to be a mixed review - and we didn't actually stay here. Basically our travel plans got mixed up and we didn't have a place to stay one night, so we ended up booking our stay here last minute, at about 11:30pm. We were pretty tired from a long road trip with our 11 month old, and had to drive a further 2 hours (so about 7-8 in all) to reach this destination. Around 1am we were about 5 minutes away when we received a call from Priceline to say they were cancelling our reservation because the hotel had overbooked and they didn't have room for us. We're not sure whether this was a system error with Priceline or with the hotel, or what, but obviously it put us in a difficult spot. My husband was too tired to keep driving (long story of many sleepless nights). Everywhere within 30 miles was totally booked, except for one room at a nearby motel, because of a horse show in the area. The four stars are for the woman working the night shift that tried her best to help us figure something out. She offered us waters, let us use the restroom, and called the local places (we had no internet to search) to help us find an alternative. We went over to the motel and at some point we misplaced our credit card, so thought maybe we'd dropped it at the Hampton Inn parking lot or something. We called and the woman (I didn't get her name) searched high and low for it. My husband had to go back to look around and she offered to have Hampton comp our stay at the other motel because we were having a difficult time of it. Long story short, the other motel room had bed bugs and we ended up sleeping in the car a few hours before heading to our next destination, but the care and concern from this employee at Hampton Inn was really appreciated and was pretty much the only thing that kept us level headed when we were feeling very tired, frustrated, and little bit helpless! Otherwise this review would have been very different :) So grateful there are people who will go above and beyond to try and help. read more

Staff was nice and very friendly. Also whomever works to prepare, stock and keep clean the continental breakfast service deserves an award. There was always someone standing there refilling or cleaning something. The rooms were dated but clean except my ice bucket was full of water and an used disposable bladder. That and there was no exhaust fan in bathroom was my only complaint. read more

I always stay with Hampton Inn and suites when traveling so I know what to expect. This Hampton is really nice, especially if you are staying in Williamston for a horse show. It is not the most extravagant of the Hampton's, but was very clean, good water pressure and quit. We had a slow drain the first night but management was right on it the next day and fixed it. Only thing that disappointed me was they are not pet friendly, which they should be since the horse complex is right there and most equine exhibitors take there pets with them. But I will stay at this Hampton again! read more

Yearly my wife and I frequent this location with my other family members. Check in is a breeze. Always accommodating, friendly and very clean environment. No complaints. Pool is always available and there's a gas station nearby (right beside) for late night snacks. Theirs a gazebo outdoors and large seating business area inside for leisure. Breakfast, the best darn breakfast I've had at a hotel ever! Seems like a buffet! Name it they have it and it's always continually being cooked or brought to you, very friendly. read more

We stayed here for 5 days after hurricane Florence hit our area. We were given a 10% discount by the manager as a courtesy because of the hurricane situation. (I didn't ask for this, it was given voluntarily) My experience with motel/hotels is extensive and I'm a picky customer. The front desk was courteous and professional. The maid staff was exceptional. All young white girls {20-30 y/o} and as discrete and helpful as you could want. The laundry lady was a sweet, very friendly older black woman. Overall, you couldn't ask for better service. The room was standard fare and the microwave, television and fridge were typical. The A/C worked well and the lowest setting (64F) was just barely low enough to suit us. The bed was comfortable and we were offered as many pillows as we wanted. The sofa was nice, but we never used the hide-a-bed feature. The fire alarm went off when I cooked a couple of microwave meals. I called the front desk to report that everything was okay, but nonetheless, there were three men at my door within 60 seconds. (I think they were more concerned that we were smoking in the room, but we don't smoke) We didn't use the breakfast facilities in the common area, but it looked well stocked and people seemed to be enjoying the provided food and beverages. The pool was closed (covered) and didn't seem active in quite a while. (Pools are high cost/maintenance) We wouldn't have used the pool, but many families would have had disappointed children if they were looking forward to using it. I've stayed at better hotels, but for the money, you could do much worse. The young maid staff was the bright spot. Bright white. Did that sound offensive? Gee, I hope not. read more

It was a nice hotel. Had the jacuzzi alcove room for a week. It would have been nice if the jacuzzi had a view of the television or something. There was more than enough free space in the room. Think you could have played shuffleboard with all the free room. It is a good quite room when people are not slamming the staircase doors. Some dampening on the doors to prevent slamming would be nice. Breakfast was standard Hampton Breakfast but presented well enough. Will stay there again when business calls. read more

I generally like Hampton Inns, this one was no exception. The breakfasts are always the star but the rooms are clean and spacious, facilities modern, nice amenities and toiletries, coffee & tea available all day and cookies if you get there before they are gone ;) Debbie at the front desk was helpful and a hoot, she's a little sarcastic so she had me laughing as she warned me off bad neighborhoods in the area. The Internet price was showing apx. $124 a night so I walked in and without even asking got a better rate of about $100 with taxes and fees. There is absolutely nothing to look at, the property seems to be outside a high school, a gas station, and highways on the other two sides. But it was probably the best choice in this town, not a lot of hotels to choose from and nothing much to look at anywhere. Given what I know now of the area I would probably stay in Washington NC. next time instead as that town at least has waterfront and some better restaurant choices. read more
