We stayed at this hotel over the July 4th weekend while we visited friends. We really enjoyed our stay and, should we travel this way again, we will definitely stay here again.
When we tried to check in, shortly before check-in time of 3pm, we were told that rooms were not ready. It seems that some of the staff also wanted to celebrate the holiday weekend. David suggested that we call later to make sure that our room would be held. I did, in fact, call later that afternoon and was assured that our room would be ready.
The hotel is spacious and very clean. The dining area is large and well-lit. There are different seating arrangements of varying sizes and shapes, giving the room an eclectic look. The breakfast, however, was the same old, same old. The hot section included scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits. The oatmeal was gloppy and just didn't inspire eating it.
Unfortunately, the heating element was not turned on and these items were cold. There is a waffle maker and the assorted cereals and fruit. There is a section where you can make toast and heat up bagels.
The coffee, available all day long, along with hot water and tea, is very good. I am a coffee snob and I avoided paying Starbucks astronomical prices. They offer two flavors of creamers along with half and half.
The lobby bathroom, for the ladies, is large, well-lit and has three stalls. It is very clean. That is another thing about this hotel. The ladies are always working hard, cleaning and mopping floors. Very impressive!
The rooms are large and very clean. The only criticism was the lighting: it was very dark in the room. They need lamps in different corners of the room.
The bathroom was large and the tub had four handicapped grab bars! I loved the grab bars. We are of a certain age now and require a little more assistance these days.
Although they were short staffed, our room was cleaned every day. The housekeeping staff is efficient and very courteous. They always offered assistance and left clean towels and supplies everyday. I told the young lady, who was working the front desk, that we were very pleased with everything during our stay. read more
