Worst Hilton ever. The only good thing I can say was that the breakfast staff was helpful and very friendly. The room was dirty and there was mold on the curtains. The door was broke. The closet did not have hangers, rod or a safe. The ironing board and iron were on the floor. While the hotel is undergoing renovations (which was not on the Hilton site), the elevator, ice machine and laundry area were very dirty. The smoke detectors on the first floor were covered and would not have worked if there was a fire. It was so bad, I took pictures. When I checked out, I told the front desk associate that I was disappointed with my stay and why. They shrugged their shoulders and said that I needed to talk to the manager. I asked for the manager and was told that they were not there and they were unsure when they would be there next. I am also reporting this to Hilton, but I would not stay here again.

This place wasn't too bad. No, it's not a top quality Hilton, but we slept well, and there was a hot breakfast that was decent. We only stayed from 9 p.m. until 8 a.m., so we didn't use the pool or anything. We just needed a place to lay our heads and have a quick bite to eat before setting out on the road again, so it worked out fine for us.

Good for a One Night Stay!! The last time I was in the Portage Area I stayed next door at the Holiday Inn Express. At the time it looked like this Hampton Inn was undergoing renovations. Sure enough, I was right, however, it is still a work in progress. As I learned some of the rooms are being updated and others have been updated but not all or not completely or at least that's what I was told during my stay. This is like many other Hampton Inn and Suites a cookie-cutter clone in terms of layout and decor. The front lobby and sitting areas at the entrance of the hotel look like they are relatively new. The Hilton app allows you to book your room ahead of time based on the type of room you selected. Before the pandemic, you were issued a 'digital room key' which was activated once the room was cleaned and around the time you entered into the app that you would be arriving. I loved this feature as you could just walk in and go straight to your room. Now the Digital Key feature has been disabled, although the app ( at least at the time of my visit ) shows you have the digital key option. My room was fairly large and clean. I booked a King Room as I was only there for the night. It was large enough for my suitcases and items I bought in town. The desk is attached to a long cabinet that houses a place to put luggage, a dresser and a TV stand combo and also connects to the desk. My room had a lounge chair and a very nice-sized bed which was very comfortable. The bathroom upon first look seemed bright and clean but when I went to take a shower the next morning I noticed the bathtub was old and stained. I guess the bathrooms are next up for the upgrade? If you are a business traveller like me, connecting to the wifi is easy, and the signal is strong. I was able to connect easily for work and for surfing/streaming on my personal devices. There are outlets and USB ports on the desk as well. The pool was closed at the time, and I was able to use the fitness center which was on the small side. It had some cardio machines and a few other items for a workout. Nothing spectacular. Breakfast was your typical Hampton offerings with hot and cold food choices, fresh fruit, dairy items and breads, pastries and cereals. There is a coffee station in the breakfast area as well. Overall a good eventless stay, but the hotel could use a sprucing up especially in the bathrooms and could have more items available in the fitness center. A good fitness centre should have multiple cardio machines, free weights, mats and exercise balls and a universal weight machine. There is room for improvement but no issues with staff, noise or the comfort of my room. I will try this location again once all the updates are finished.

This is the worst location I've ever been to. The outside looks old and the inside does as well. The elevator was shaky and I wasn't sure it was gonna make it up to my room. The room looks cheap but it's not it's $140 plus tax. If I ever come back this way I'll be sure and pass this place up. The front desk staff was friendly so that's the only good thing I can say about this place. If I hadn't of been 4 hrs in Chicago traffic and been rear ended at the last tollbooth stop of many stops on the toll interstate I'd of went on to another city to stay the night. Woke up and opened the curtain and noticed my view was a old dilapidated boarded up tavern. It was dark last night and I didn't notice that. Hampton hotel chain seems to have gone down but not in price.. no glasses in the room for $140 a night plus tax. It's not in a good area but was late when I got off the interstate

Very clean rest room.

This place is way better than I expected. Beautiful clean rooms, free WiFi, free continental breakfast too. Fully enjoying my (Stay-cation). The staff was accommodating and friendly as well as quiet. I didn't here the cleaning of rooms, or loud conversations among the staff. Nice home away from home. There is a one cup coffe dispenser in each room. That come in handy for my late cup of Joe, lol. Well worth every cent. When traveling, I will be looking for the nearest Hampton.

Excellent. I think Hampton Inn in general has one of the best standards of service of any of the mid-level travel hotels out there.

My review is based largely upon an inflammatory sign posted in the lobby. I am a very big supporter…read moreof businesses having the freedom to post whatever they like inside their establishments, but on the same token I'm a big supporter of private citizens choosing to use another business because of said postings. I also support businesses requiring it's patrons to wear a mask on the property if they deem it necessary. What I do not support is offensive, divisive signage to get the point across. A simple "mark required" sign or something with clever humor is sufficient--not the rude, tacky sign that was posted at this hotel that clearly singled out folk of a certain demographic. In a world so full of hate and unkindness, this sign only adds to be negativity. As a tired, road weary traveler seeking nothing more than a little rest and respite from the road, this "greeting sign" caused me to promptly turn around, walk out the door and head to the Best Western across the street. I recommend you do the same and do not support a business that is so crass and low class.

Only reason this hotel was booked, they allowed pets…read more The driveway to get to the hotel is not clearly marked. We passed it and turned into the ustore it drive and had to turn around. There is a restaurant blocking the hotel from the road that looks like it's been closed for years. After pass that you see the hotel. The grounds immediately surrounding the building and the building itself looked fairly well maintained. On top of the entry there is a dish either being held in place by cinder block or being stabilized with them. The interior is super dated and really could use modernisation. We checked in and were told there was a 10$ pet fee. 10$ is low and I had no issues paying it but there was no mention of it on the hotel web page. I would have paid it at booking. No place on the web site during booking is there a place to say you are bringing a pet. Floor in the lobby was nice and clean and shiny. We went up to our room. The room was nice and spacious and also needed a good update and carpets need a super deep cleaned. NOTE TO HOTEL: stop using the dated bedspreads. A nice crisp clean white sheet is all that is needed. Bedspreads always get taken off and thrown aside. Room smelled clean and our sheets were clean and white. The blanket needs retired. It had holes in it. All night long people came and went thru the stairway door that is in need of a soft close spring. We skipped breakfast and went to McDonald's. Over all it worked for a place to sleep and shower that allowed the dog but not our normal standard of hotel.
