I checked in super late, around 1am. The lobby and parking lot were full of drunk people from another wedding so that was fun. But the person that checked me in was super friendly and got me checked in quickly. The room was nice and had good space. It was just me but it would be fine for 2 people. The only thing I noticed was that there wasn't a coffee maker in the room, but there was coffee, stirrers, etc. my favorite thing about staying in hotels is complimentary breakfast so I got coffee downstairs anyway so it wasn't a big deal. The breakfast was pretty good and had a good variety. They had strawberry kiwi enhanced water in the juice machine which I've never seen before but sooo appreciated after all the celebrating I did the night before.

Our first room the beds were completely broken down and when you turned over the extent noise of the springs kept us up throughout the night. Second room the toilet was continuously running and observed the carpet under the a/c unit was soaked from water dripping onto it. Yes both items were corrected. Went for breakfast and observed a large bug crawling all over the breakfast area and when I brought it to their attention, they stated it's only a large ant. I don't care if it's a small ant, roach or fly it was totally disgusting. I was threatened to be charged $75 stating I had not had a service dog that, he was an emotional support animal. I advised them, I have a letter documented by a licensed provider stating he is a medically necessary service dog. Lastly getting stuck in the elevator after pushing the button for help, screaming and banging on the door upon the door, finally opening and a employee standing outside, tells me what's the problem I pushed the button and it opened OK it might've opened on the outside, but it did not on the inside. She then asked me are you sure you didn't press a button absolutely I pressed number one to go to the ground floor. Upon coming up to our room and having three lung surgeries, the whole floor smelled like marijuana called Schererville Police Department and two officers and all of a sudden, a director of sales showed up and yes, they did observe the smell. Also observed a family spraying Febreze in the hallway. Would I ever recommend staying here again absolutely not.

The staff are the best. Tyler, Max and John were exceptional and made our time in Indiana so nice…read more Tyler is so great, so welcoming and friendly and professional. Max was always a pleasure to see in the evenings when we'd come back fr being out. John was the hardest worker we'd ever seen! He was also great to talk to. All of the staff was hella nice, but these three made it feel like home, and are true assets to the Hilton brand. We had family in a diff room, so we experienced three rooms over two weeks. The pool was heated and very clean. The washers were an experience lol, we had to go to a nice laundromat about 20 min away, Fresh Laundry in Griffith. The hotels washers were pretty rough, we cleaned gross hair and gunk off of one before we decided to not use it. Then the next day 2 of 3 were out of order and there was a line for the one that was working. The gym is great, used it each day. The breakfast and 24/7 coffee/tea/water is also very much appreciated! The lobby is really cute and the elevators are very efficient. Parking is super easy and plentiful. Mostly, this hotel felt really safe and welcoming. Factoring in the crazy good deal we received, if you're on a budget or need to be in this area, highly recommend. Also, water gets nice and hot fast for the sinks and showers. Our if the 3 rooms, 2 had great mattresses and everything was perfect, but the third (handicap accessible room) had a lot of issues w knobs falling off of the kitchen area and the shower sprayer needed to be replaced and I had to tighten the table leg bc it was so loose the table almost fell. The heater and ac worked really well in each unit and the streaming was easy, wifi was stable enough for work. We mostly stay a lot in Chicago (Trump tower, review for that on yelp as well), and we don't think we'll be back in Indiana for future visits, just due to family being more in the city, but if you find yourself in this area- we recommend this place for a great value and perfect staff members. We did have very strange issues w exceptionally crazy stomping and noses fr what sounded like upstairs, but they said no one was above us lol- but we def heard hella running and footsteps like, 8pm to 1-2am for a lot of days so who knows from where that was deriving- sound placement can be deceptive, but there were 5 of us who will swear it was directly above us lol. They moved us w no issues to the above mentioned accessible room, and that was in the top floor, so we had no issues w noise after that and we appreciated how they moved us w no issues.

Typically when i book hotel rooms i read reviews and look at ratings, pictures as well. The pictures doesn't match, my greatness disappoint at this location was it was not clean, dirty furniture and bathroom was clean, the kitchen area needs upgrading, rust in the fridge on racks. There was dust on the dressers and desk area and trash left under the sofa in the living room area. I pay for good service not convenience. The pool area has no towel. This is a location i will not be re visiting.

My kiddo prefers to just sleep on the large sofa directly instead of the pull-out bed. Wish the pillows were better. I had a security incident on my first visit - housekeeping forgot to undo the deadbolt that they had used when cleaning the room, so when I got back to my room very late that night, the door was open. I was utterly exhausted and didn't have the energy to switch rooms. Luckily it didn't seem like anything was stolen, but I really didn't have any mental energy to spend - this was the day after a family member passed away - and I just wanted to crash into bed. I did speak with an assistant manager the next day who apologized profusely, and thankfully I haven't had any other issues since then. I really wish the breakfast was better - I miss a waffle maker. The breakfast variety isn't great, and sometimes there can be a big rush of people. One morning, there was a crowd waiting for more pancakes, and when more came out, there were only enough for a few people. It was awkward. Most mornings, I just end up with hard boiled eggs and a bagel - the hot options looked too greasy or soggy. For me, this hotel is about the location - it's very convenient for me so I put up with the meh breakfast. It's also a little less expensive than some of the nearby hotels, and I appreciate the Hyatt rewards program.

Upon checking into my room, it was very clear that housekeeping had not cleaned it properly. The bathtub and toilet was covered with pubic hairs, and there were stains on both the couch and shower curtain. The condition of the bathroom was honestly disturbing. I even took photos that I don't want to upload because I could hardly believe a room would be given to a guest in that state. Unfortunately, there was no room availability that night, so I was unable to switch rooms. The front desk agent was kind and did try to help -- she even offered to personally clean the room since housekeeping had already left for the day. I appreciated her professionalism, but of course I was uncomfortable having her do that, so I ended up spending late night sanitizing the room myself. The next day, I spoke with the manager on duty who's there morning to afternoons and showed her the photos. What disappointed me most was not just the condition of the room, but how the situation was handled afterward. Instead of showing empathy, apologizing, or attempting to properly accommodate the inconvenience, the response felt defensive and dismissive. The first thing I was told was that I should have come down earlier in the morning because housekeeping was gone which doesn't even make sense if checkout is at 11am and I came down at 1pm. After spending late hours cleaning and sanitizing the room myself, I had a sleepless nice because I was so disturbed and disgusted with the room situation so understandably was not up early. I ultimately had to ask for compensation myself, and only then was I offered a measly $50 off for the experience. Upon checkout, the adjustment had not even been applied correctly so I had to let the manager know and have her readjust. After she readjusted, I then had to point it out again because I was only refunded $40. Rather than simply correcting it professionally, the interaction again felt unnecessarily defensive. All she kept saying was it's $40 in a very rude and annoyed tone. I had to remind her multiple times it was $50. Honestly, the front desk staff handled the situation with far more professionalism and courtesy than the manager did. Mistakes happen, but how management responds to those mistakes is what really shapes a guest's experience. This stay ended up being extremely unpleasant because of both the room condition and the lack of proper customer service afterward. She should really learn and take notes from the front desk staffs.

The hotel check-in for the Hometown Inn and Suites was in a vestibule not the main lobby. It took…read morequite a few minutes to get a staff member to show to check me in. I had booked a one night stay and later needed another night which I also reserved through Hotels.com, One Key or Expedia whatever you are calling yourself this week. I asked if I could combine the two without checking out and I was told no, I would need to cancel the second night and the hotel would then put the two nights together. Once that was done I was ultimately charged a fee like there were separate credit card transactions for 2 nights for using a credit card and not paying cash. Really who is carrying around that much cash nowadays and secondly why 2 charges when the credit card was only run once ? Although I knew that there was no breakfast buffet available, I was extremely disappointed that there was no coffee on hand either in the lobby or in room. This hotel is in bad condition, very dirty and antiquated. In the first room I was placed in the TV was not working and I need to call the front desk. They sent a man up to verify that the TV was operational and only needed new batteries in the changer. Then I needed to call the front desk again when a plumbing problem in the room was uncovered. (The toilet was not refilling itself as the cut off was turned off. However after I turned it back on it did not fill up the tank and the man they sent up verified it was a true plumbing problem and I was moved to another room.) I feel that all of these issues should have been discovered prior to me occupying that room. There was an insufficient number of towels available in the bathroom. 2 Tiny bars of soap that were so old they cracked into slivers when dropped. One wash cloth and one towel looked like rags that were used to clean dirty, oily machinery. On the second day the room was cleaned and the used towels were taken away but no clean ones were left in the room. Perhaps the cleaning person did not know that it was a two day stay. I had to track the cleaning person down to get replacement towels for the second day. In the room there was evidence of years of neglect was void of general maintenance, Behind the TV stand was what look liked years of dust and an old empty bottle, apparently the furniture is not moved on any schedule for a deep cleaning of the room. There were smears on the headboards and the walls had marks on them everywhere including spills that had never been cleaned. In 2023, USB outlets or easily accessible outlets are a must. This room provided neither. I could continue, but I think you get the idea. In looking at the reviews post trip, little has changed from similar complaints as far as 2 years prior, though owners state they are working in the problems. This property was nowhere near up to the standards that I would expect attached to the One Key branding. I have always associated the One Key, Hotels.com and Expedia name with quality and a higher standard than I experienced. I would love to say that I will seek out a a property under your umbrella for a future stay but at this point, I am not confident that the One Key name would be at the top of my list. My guess is that the franchisee of this property is tarnishing the branding brand without corporate knowledge. I would also hope there is some level of guidelines required to become a client of One Key branding.

First, there was no one there when arrived to I check in - I had a long wait until I was able to find someone to help get someone to check in (and there were other guests waiting by that time then too). No recognition of Hilton Honors status. There was no working power available next to the bed. There's a table between the beds with built-in power outlets, but none of them worked, so I had to charge my phone on the other side of the room. Not the most fun when the alarm goes off in the morning and you've got to stumble around to get up for it. Shower water pressure was very low in the mornings. Pillows were terrible. Hot tub is broken - I was told "it's hot but the jets don't work" - but it also looked like no filtering was happening either as there were lots of tiny things floating in the water. I wasn't told about the every-other-day housekeeping. There was lots of noise from the hallway throughout the night. On the good side, I really love the waffles in the morning - especially getting to choose from two flavors. One was chocolate the second morning and that was fantastic. Wish the scrambled eggs were better. Checking out, I wasn't asked how my stay was - and she didn't even actually check me out of the room. I got an alert on my Hilton app that check out was coming up soon, but I had left an hour earlier. Hmpf.
