The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was not up to standards for a Hampton Inn. We stayed 4 nights and each morning food and supplies ran out. The worker in the breakfast area was often gone or in the back room with the door closed. We had a group of family staying with us and everyone had issues no matter the time of the morning we ate. The carpet in our rooms were heavily stained. The shower curtain rod bent in several of our rooms and water went on the floor as a result. Toilet paper holders were broken. Each of us got a parking fee for each night we stayed, even though some of us car pooled. It was an automatic room charge. None of us were asked to report our car info and license plate. read more

We stayed in this hotel this weekend. I can tell you that it's one of the best hotels in that area. I had my granddaughter with me and she needed a bag for her cloths so went say a lady cleaning rooms. we ask her if we could have a bag? We were expecting a plastic bag but no this lady ( I think her name was Angie). gave my granddaughter her own personal bag it has the Disney princess on it. My granddaughter was holding that bag. My granddaughter was so happy. I really enjoyed our stay but that nice gesture from Angie made our trip one to never forget. It's the small things in life that makes us happy. read more

Today I checked out of this hotel after an 8 day stay. On November 9, housekeeping called and asked to clean the room. It seems that on November 9, I forgot my Apple Air Pods Pro on the desk in the room. I was at an appointment in Laurel MD that day. While I was at that appointment, my Air Pods Pro pinged in Elkridge MD. I didn't see the notification until today when I was packing my stuff out. I contacted the hotel and they wouldn't check swipes to my room, probably because the only swipes were from hotel staff. Yesterday I heard a guest on my floor screaming about housekeeping stealing something of his. Hotel management denied that incident happened however I was discussing it with my wife. It seems that the hotel has problems. If the hotel cares to resolve this, you have until 5pm on November 15 to make the Air Pods Pro materialize or there will be a police report as well. This is not how a hotel should operate for any guest and Hilton just royally pissed off a Diamond. read more

They clean rooms every other day. I was surprised that the day I expected my room to be cleaned was not. If the room was cheaper I wouldn't be making a big deal but for what I paid it should have been cleaned. By the time I got back there wasn't anything I could do since I left the next day. read more

Check in was good, lady was so nice and professional. She welcomed us and told us all of the amenities. Complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate were available in the lobby 24/7. The only concerns i had at check in was that I had already checked in through the app and selected my room but when we arrived, it was as if the check in never happened. We ended up on a whole other floor in a completely different room. I will agree there never seemed to be anyone at the desk. There was a handwritten sign each time stating they stepped away from the desk and the reason why. Room was clean. Minor marks on the wall but nothing to complain about. The room was HUGE, the bathroom and carpets were clean. Walls were a bit thin so you could hear a lot but that's to be expected. Temp in room was comfortable as was the bed. I have OCD and am a clean freak so it was up to par. Breakfast was so/so. Food was hot, eggs were delicious. 2 types of potatoes were not so great. Good assortment of muffins, bagels were pre-wrapped in closed plastic bags which was a plus. It would have been nice to see more sanitizing procedures. No one was there wiping anything down, there was no hand sanitizer, etc. Check out was a breeze through the app and we just dropped the keys in a bowl at the front desk. No one was there again and just leaving the keys in the bowl seemed a bit unsafe. Also when checking out through the app, usually you get a receipt via email right away. It took 30 minutes and a phone call to the hotel to get the receipt but was then received immediately. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and we will stay here again in the future! read more

We came to town to visit family and celebrate my husband's best friend turning 50. We arrived at 1am and planned to sleep in but the fire alarm went off at 9am!!! My husband called the front desk to make sure we didn't need to leave and they told him they were cleaning the oven??!!! The next night we arrived back at about midnight and planned to sleep in until 11am. Guess what happened?? The fire alarm went off at 9:13 am!!! We didn't bother getting up. There was a team of some sort staying there the 2nd night and they played tag in the hallway so that was annoying. I took a shower and the water filled up to my ankles and drained very slowly. Initially I wanted to book a room at the Hampton closer to our morning appointment but this location was almost $50.00 cheaper and was only an additional 5 miles away. I think there is good reason this is. My room was fine if not a little dirty in the bathroom. The exercise rooms AC didn't work right. I was dying in there on mile three, and the equipment is dated. The morning breakfast was standard. No real complaints but seems to be an older Hampton. It could use some improvements for the cost per night, and I really wish there was something within walking distance, but that's neither here nor there. read more

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and it was the dirtiest, most outdated hotel I have ever stayed in. Room had a very musty odor. Visible stains were on both of the mattresses and box springs in the room. On the second day of my stay, I found bed bugs crawling on one of the beds and pillows. Housekeeping staff member came to "inspect" the bed for bugs, and very condescendingly asked me "what do you need? Want the sheets changed"? He then started stripping the sheets with bedbugs on them while I was still in the room and gathering my things to leave. Front desk staff was courteous and very prompt at placing me in a new room for the rest of the day. Overall, this was a very terrible experience and I will never stay at this hotel or any Hilton hotel ever again until there are some major changes made. If writing this review stops even just one person from staying here, it was definitely worth my time! read more

I'm a Hilton Gold member. I stay at Hilton properties a lot. Made a reservation tonight for this hotel. Within a few hours of making the reservation, had a family emergency arise. I know that's not the hotel's fault. I also know many folks lie. I decided to call the hotel and tell them my issue forthrightly. If they decided to let me out, great. If not, understood. Not an issue. Went thru two people. Front of the House Manager said she couldn't give me a refund. It was impossible to do in the system. I HATE LIARS. If you don't want to refund the night, say so. Tell me you're sorry but the policy is what it is. But don't tell me the system is rigged so you can't manually alter it. I have friends who are managers at other Hilton & Marriott properties. I know what can and cannot be done. I'll book elsewhere next time. I may also send a letter to Hilton Corporate. I hate liars: read more

I arrived to check in at 7:30PM with my dog who was having surgery the following day. The lobby was empty and there was no one at the desk. I waited, and looked for a bell. Tried calling their phone to see if it would ring in a back office. I hollered excuse me towards the back to see if someone would come out. Almost 10 minutes, nothing. I walked around the corner to see if there was a housekeeping office or someone else who could help and I saw a woman on the side of the front desk, slouched over and not responding. I yelled and knocked on the office door, repeatedly asking if she was ok. Nothing. I was about to call 911 when someone else came in and my dog barked. For whatever reason THIS is what woke the young lady up. Front desk service continued to be spotty the remainder of my trip. read more

Hampton inn...should be a safe bet, right? Think again. There was no one at the front desk when we arrived. After 15 minutes a nice young man arrived to check us in. Apparently he doubles as building maintenance, he was repairing a door lock. Needed ice, not one of the four floors had a working ice machine. All the nice young man could do was apologize. The TV... no remote. The nice young man had search for a remote for this 15 + year old 28 inch TV positioned about 20 feet from the bed. All this for $167. read more

Older but solid, this hotel gave me a large clean room, plenty of free data, a very quiet night and a big hot breakfast. Located in a quiet, mostly residential part of Columbia, you will not hear any freeway noise here. Love the Hampton policy of free data and free food! In-room tech at this Hampton Inn was OK. Wi-fi was excellent, but there was no ethernet cable. Three charging stations with USB were a big plus - left of bed, right of bed and at the desk, just perfect, what took them so long!? The smallish TV had a few channels in hi-def but most were annoyingly static-y analog low def. Room furnishings were not the latest modern style but absolutely fine, and there was enough space for another king-size bed LOL! That bed was soft and well equipped with four pillows, altho a bit squeaky-springy. The work desk was small and the chair kinda sucked - simply would not go high enough for typing. A fridge & microwave were in a cabinet instead of a chest of drawers. Thermostat on the wall. My bathroom was large and had been upgraded with granite etc., it was spotless, well stocked with towels, great. The indoor pool was very tempting - large and deserted. The exercise room was basically a closet with exactly two machines, one treadmill and one elliptical, not so tempting. Breakfast offered the standard something-for-everyone Hampton menu: fresh cut watermelon, bananas, yogurt, cereals, donuts, breads, oatmeal, make-your-own-waffles, hard-boiled eggs, juices, hot brown water both unleaded and premium, plus a steam table with pre-fab omelets, home fries and sausage. Love the variety and obviously the price can't be beat. You can walk to some fast-food restaurants from here, but nothing particularly interesting. read more

This weeks travels included A Tale of Two Hampton Inns. The one in Nashville - well, it kind of sucked. This location, on the other hand, was most definitely above average. Rooms: mine was very large, with a separate alcove for a king bed, a good sized work area (desk chair was terrible, tho) and a nice couch/loveseat for relaxing. My bathroom was also good sized with an enormous Jacuzzi style tub, though the jets and tub part had been disabled and it was really just a giant shower stall. Everything was clean and smelled fresh. Amenities: free wifi (worked well), a postage stamp sized pool that is right off the lobby and viewable from the breakfast room so everyone can see you doing laps while eating their oatmeal, free breakfast and a workout room. Staff: really friendly. The guys who checked us in upon a late arrival hooked us up with good recommendations for delivery and some free bottled waters. Location: best for business travelers or those with a car. There isn't much within walking distance other than a Bob Evans and maybe a Chick-Fil-A. Easy access to the highway though. Sleep Quality: Great! The air con was not overly noisy and despite being close to a highway I really didn't hear road noise. I would happily stay here again. read more

This is actually 3.5 star review as I couldn't rate an extra 1/2 star I would give 3 then! Yeah we booked the room the first room wasn't good clean so we had to ask to change which staff were very nice and helpful with our request! The new room we moved to was clean and nice we enjoyed the whirl pool and comfy king size bed, the TV was small 24" and the distance between bed and the TV was not making easy to watch the TV from almost 14 feet away. The room got only one small AC that takes hours to get the room cold! The Breakfast starts at 7am till 10am, which is not special I don't really recommend it! There was no scramble eggs and not selection of everything else just very simple, the french toast that supposed to be hot was cold! In the hallway was not AC so I was borning hell from the heat as well as elevator! read more

This is my second time staying here for work in the past year. I'll start with the good-- the room is clean, bed is decent, no noisy neighbors & it's a safe area. Quick to get to highways. Out of 5 nights, three of them I had to come back down to have my key fixed. One of those times the reader itself on the door was broken and I was locked outside of my room for an hour. It appears housekeeping also couldn't get in, and didn't think to let someone know. Though I'm not too picky about complementary breakfasts, it was night and day the quality from 6 months ago and current-- not sure what changed about the hot food, but everything was consistently soggy. read more

However, it would be nice to change the comforter from a nylon to a cotton one. If you turn off the lights and wave the nylon comforter...you can actually see sparks. Typically I don't stay at Hilton chain hotels, but for a local kids competition I made an exception to be with teammates. I do not regret that decision. Staff was friendly at check in and offered us each free bottle of water. Our room had two queen beds that were comfortable and clean. Our room was nearly spotless and the front desk quickly helped us with extra shampoo since we forgot to bring ours. The free WiFi was more than adequate for email and streaming and one of my kids was even able to play a few games of Fortnite. I wouldn't spend the extra $10 for the premium WiFi since the free offering is great in our room, the breakfast area and even sitting by the pool. The pool was nice for the kids to all hang out and splash around after a long day of competition. Not much food right near the hotel but almost every place delivers and one exit north on 100 you'll find plenty of options. Breakfast was so-so but hey, it's free and the kids had waffles. Seems any hotel worth staying at has a few self service waffle makers. I also recommend downloading the Hilton app on your phone or tablet. You can check in up to 24 hrs ahead of arrival, view available rooms and select the room of your choice. Stay away from the elevators or pick a room facing west so you don't have sun shining in your window early in the morning ! I would definitely stay here again. read more

I love when hotel beds are comfy and CLEAN-- meaning, the first thing you do when you walk in the room is flop down on TOP of the bed, not take one finger and peel the top layer off the bed, shoving it in a corner while trying for the least amount of contact with it possible. Oh yeah, you know what I'm talkin' about! The staff here is very curteous, the in-room internet is free, and the rooms are clean. The water pressure is great, they have a 24-hour gym, a pool, lots of bathroom counter space, and the rooms are clean. The serve complementary breakfast, have fresh-baked cookies for you at night, the parking is free, and the rooms are clean. No room service, so that's a bummer, but the hotel is quiet, they have mini-fridges and microwaves in the rooms, and oh yeah, did I mention that *the rooms are clean*?? ;-) read more

Absolutely terrible. Overall, the hotel is dingy, dark, and rundown. No TV service in the hotel. Read that again. Zero TV - MLB post-season underway - and ZERO apology by the hotel staff. (At check-in, "they were supposed to fix it today, but it still doesn't work.") Zero offer for any discount/compensation. Did I say this hotel was absolutely terrible? First morning, had my normal bowl of cereal. Milk tasted odd. Sick all morning. I mean SICK. If you want this free breakfast, you can have my share also. Never again. I'll never stay here again. This location was fantastic for concerts at Merriweather. The staff was very friendly with smiles and greetings every day. The breakfast was delicious, the room was comfortable, they had a shuttle service for the weekend and Kenny, the shuttle guy, was excellent...prompt and a good dude. I have mixed feelings about this location. When we checked in, we found out that they lost our credit card authorization so we had to go through a bit of a process to get that resolved. Fortunately, they gave us a room right away without having to wait for the checkin time to help compensate for this error. The room was very nice and had the usual amenities. However, you could hear everything going on out in the hallway all night long. I think this property needs to invest in sound-proof doors in order to make the experience better. I was only there for one night so I tolerated it but if I was staying longer, I'd have a real issue with this. I always stay at Hampton Inn's because of the consistency experienced at many of the locations across the U.S. Unfortunately, I finally stayed at a Hampton that does not meet my expectations. Front desk staff were rude, especially the front desk manager. We stayed three nights at this hotel. The second day, maid service only provided 1 towel even though we placed all dirty towels on the floor of the bathroom. The third day, after a long day, my mother and I arrived at the room about 3pm and there was no maid service in our room. When I asked a maid if our room is going to be serviced, she said no, but that she would find out what happened. She spoke with the front desk manager and she told the maid to go ahead and service the room. The maid told us it would be about 20 minutes and the room should be done. My elderly mother was very tired and waiting to take her afternoon nap. An hour later, we asked a staff member if the room was finished, and they said they would check. 15 minutes later, I walked upstairs to the room and saw the manager walking with a staff member from our room. I asked the manager if the room was ready and she said yes. I went into the room to find NOTHING had been cleaned or replaced, except for the towels. My mother and I were livid. Why would the manager lie? We couldn't figure it out. The next day when we checked out and got the receipt, we drove home. When I looked at my bank account, I noticed they had charged me twice for the room. I complained to the hotel general manager, both leaving a detailed voice message on his voicemail, and sending an email to him, and I received no response. It appears that I was finally credited for one of the charges today. I don't think we will be staying at this Hampton ever again. read more

The room was comfy and clean, beds were fresh and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was delicious and included waffles, oatmeal, cooked summer sausage, home fries, an assortment of cereals and juices and was tasty. We enjoyed the pool, but it was not as clean as we would've liked. There was a green grime on the sides above the water and black debris. Kind of gross. Otherwise we would've given the hotel 5 stars. The staff was mostly nice. The reservations department for Hilton messed up my reservation even though I did everything they told me to. The first 2 nights I did not have adjoining rooms like I requested and verified I was supposed to according to the reservations department. The manager was able to adjoin my rooms the rest of my stay but I was charged more for the room types. The biggest issue I had besides that was the fact that the US Flag outside the hotel did not have a light on it at night. I told them 3 nights in a row it was out each time the staff said they would let engineering know. The flag was still not lit the last night I was there. That is very disappointing to me. read more

Very nice amenities but all aspects of service were poor. I checked in online for the first time. Front desk attendant was very curt when I asked if she needed to see my ID. I highly do not recomend this hotel. as you walk through the doors its just old. not worth the money. I use to like the Hampton Inn until this stay in Columbia MD. The bathroom wasn't cleaned, no shower curtain and every time a person used the bathroom on any floor you heard it through the walls as if the toilet was gonna come crashing down.
