The truth is, it took me FOUR tries to get an agent to listen to me, hear what I was saying, and help me. Oh, and the person who provided the worst and most inaccurate information? A gentleman from that same office. I took a deep breath and called again. Fortune finally decided to smile on me. I spoke with Julie, who listened and helped. She was the person to find the information I'd provided. It had been there the whole time. It's true - Social Security is understaffed. Their job is unrewarding. I get that. But in my instance, the agent in charge of my case mis-filed my proof of insurance coverage: not my fault and how was I to know??? As a result of this person's lack of care, I was threatened by that Harrisburg gentleman with permanent penalties and lack of coverage. Ummm, nope. What is the purpose of my message and why is it relevant? It's two-fold - To tell my fellow seniors that if you believe you are being under-served, you very likely are. Get off the phone with the joker you are talking to and try again. Yes, it's going to take some time. But it's your healthcare and your money. Many agents hide behind their anonymity and shotgun mis-information. (Don't get me started on the entire process - it was way more convoluted that what I'm telling you). Stick with things and see them through. The second purpose is to state whatever role/job you have, know there are people like me who count on you to do the right thing. It matters. Thank you, Julie.

I received a letter from the Social Security Administration stating that they were going to reduce my payments by 30% because they had determined that I had recently earned over $70,000. 2. I have not been employed since 1987. 3. I submitted tax douments proving this fact. 4. For two months, I heard from no one. 5. For two months I could reach no one. 6. Many days I waited on the phone for HOURS listening to ghastly canned music only to have a recording eventually tell me that my call could not be complete and I should call back another day. 7. When I did get someone, they told me to call another number. 8 When I called that other number, they told me to call the number I had previously called. 9. One day I got hold of someone in the Carlisle office. 10. That person told me that she had uncovered the problem. 11. She determined that a company in another state had evidently transposed someone else's social security number attributing their earnings to ME and that was why Social Security claimed that I had earned $70,000 when I had not. 12. She said she put a note in my records explaining this and asking that my case be expedited. 13. STILL I receive letters from Social Security telling me that I will continue to receive 30% less money than I originally received. 14. Yesterday, I waited four hours on the phone and was eventually given the recording telling me to call another day. 15. Today, I called at 8:00 on the dot, waited an hour, got someone who told me to call Harrisburg. I stopped her saying "NO. I have done that. They will tell me to call your number" 16. I asked her to look at my records. She told me THERE IS NO NOTE IN YOUR FILE EXPLAINING THAT ISSUE WITH A COMPANY MISTAKENLY ATTRIBUTING SOMEONE ELSE'S EARNINGS TO YOU. THERE IS NO NOT IN YOU FILE ASKING FOR YOUR CASE TO BE EXPEDITED. 17. THE WOMAN IN CARLISLE LIED TO ME. SHE FLAT OUT TOLD ME UNTRUTHS THAT I HAVE BEEN COUNTING ON TO GET MY MONEY BACK. LIAR. 18. The woman I spoke to this morning said I would need to make an appointment to speak with someone in person at my local office. 19. The earliest appointment is in two months time. 20. Kanisha, the person I spoke to today was respectful and tried her very best to help me, but she was incapable of helping me because she works for a broken, evil, incompetent, lazy, wicked, wretched, despicable, loathsome, abhorent, disreputable, vile, contemptible, unprincipled, cruel government agency that should be dismantled and rebuilt from the ground up.

Great views from on or under the bridge allow you to enjoy the river and scenery. Nice walk to city island to enjoy a baseball game or just recreate. You can't really imagine a more beautiful sight in downtown Harrisburg, than these stunning bridges crossign the river. This is one of the beautiful old bridges that spans this gorgeous stretch of water. The cool thing is, this is a pedestrian bridge! How awesome is that? I bet you didn't even think those existed in the US. It no longer crosses the river because portions collapsed in 96 due to flooding, and it was never restored. Now it's open to pedestrians, basically as a long pier on either side.

Now the reason I was in line was to hand the librarian a book that we found on the shelf all ripped up and was handing it to them for repair. So I asked the Librarian if this book was marked as damaged, since it clearly was and on their shelf. I got yelled at... Lol, then told that I couldn't just leave a damaged book on their counter even if I'd been waiting in their line for 10 minutes to do them a favor. Will never return to this branch, the ladies there were beyond mean.

There's a cafeteria with plenty of options and a stand alone coffee bar as well. If you don't take the time to go inside you are definitely missing out. The grounds are also beautiful with a stunning fountain that may be dyed for certain months - aka pink for breast cancer awareness. There's plenty of parking options nearby. An absolute must see if you're in the area.

Be sure to check their website to reserve a spot. After entering through the Rotunda area on North 3rd Street you will have to go through a TSA-style metal detector. You can then wait in that area for your tour to begin. There are bathrooms and a coat rack in this area if needed. Our tour guide was great. She took us through the building, offering some interesting facts of the different sections: main rotunda, House of Reps, Senate an Supreme Court. Photography is allowed but video is NOT. Great experience. Highly recommended to all visiting the area.

When I tried to tell her all she cared about was whether or not I authenticated the borrower, which I did and advised her of that. She could careless that someone died. While she placed me on hold to get a supervisor, I said she was a F****** Cunt, she wasn't even on the line, I was listening to hold music while I waited for Lisa to return. The supervisor didn't care about the borrower either, they told me, if the lenders who what I said, it means trouble, not the fact that, if the lenders heard not being concerned about this poor person trying to explain their current situation about a family members death. if you like controversy, please apply

They have tons of great programs--including summer and fall fests, photography days for cheap, and Easter Egg planting in your yard for a donation. You can get your will notarized and passport done for cheap as well. They really care about adding to the community. Four stars instead of five because of limited book availability on site. It stands to reason given the small town, but I really love browsing through books physically at the library. I will say that they will look up and order books for you and have Inter library loans through Dauphin and Cumberland counties, so you can usually get what you want.
