I contracted with this sod company as it has been in business for decades. I contacted Craig, the…read moresupposed owner, and he came out to inspect the sod job and do an estimate. When I got the estimate, it was so vague to how much topsoil was to be used and amount of sod to be used. I called there office to get a more solid bid but never got one. The estimate did include fertilizing and watering which was not done. There company had the leveling and back-filling done buy a knowledgeable employee but they also had an employee laying sod that was just lazy and didn't care about how to do his job. Craig admitted after my job that the man had been fired. To be specific, I had to call this company back 4 times to do the job right! Sod was installed that was defective and had to be replaced, the shoddy work done by there worker had to be fixed, I had to call them back to do proper edging to transition new sod to existing grass, and the fertilizer was only done in 2 small areas and watering was not done. To cap it all off, Craig now refuses to pay the topsoil vendor, claiming it was my responsibility as I had negotiated the topsoil price , for Craig, at a lower price and less distance to haul to my site. Anyone considering using the company are more than welcome to contact me and see the job they did at my house. I still have splotches of grass that will need seeding as the sod was crap.
