On a road trip and craving boiled peanuts, we stopped at Hamilton's Produce after seeing it pop up in our search. We are from Texas and have been stopping at this stand since the late 90's on our trips back to visit family in Florida. Great boiled peanuts, produce and canned jellies and jams! Highly recommended. We hated to see that 158 had routed people around the town now. Worth the quick detour! Just detour on 98 and enjoy! read more

I went by here today for work and the lady spoke to me and we even had a conversation but before we started talking I gather what I was buying and being that I didn't see any baskets to sit my stuff in so I sat it on the corner by one of the cash register. When I was done I thought I moved everything but I left my jar of peaches on the other side of the employee. She didn't try to help or offer any type of assistance. Now I see why I've been passing by and it's empty. Customer service is everything even if your store is dirty or food disgusting. If you are nice ppl will come back just because of the experience and politeness. This location are flat out crooks. If you do not know your produce, you will be ripped off, A friend was coming back from Florida and was kind enough to stop here for me to pick up "green peanuts" not raw but "green" as in fresh from the ground. She did not know the difference in green and raw. She was to get about 50 lbs. Whoever was in charge that day was rude and unhelpful. They would only sell her 5 lb bags when she asked for a larger bushel bag. As for being green, they will be "raw" tomorrow. You should be ashamed for taking advantage of your customers. I can only assume the majority of their sales are from in transient. Locals would not shop there. Please beware especially if you are traveling and stop somewhere else. Will NEVER come here again!!! Beware of the peach Nazi!! My husband & I always stopped for peaches at Hamiltons Produce in Wilmer Ala. when in route to our vacation spot. On 8/25/19 2 of my friends & myself stopped there on our way to vacation. One of my friends was looking at the peaches & picked them up just to get a feel, NO squeezing was involved, as their sign on the door requests. I was finished shopping & ready to check out while my friends were still looking. I brought my items to the counter & she asked me "where are your peaches" I replied "I didn't get any peaches, my friend was looking at them but changed her mind". The employee immediately ignored me & directed her attention to my friend & began to berate my friend!!! This employee's demeanor went from Jekyll to Hyde!!! My friend tried to explain she wasn't squeezing them just getting a feel & told the girl "the peaches in Oklahoma..." my friend was cut off when the employee sarcastically said "well this isn't Oklahoma!!!". She continued saying I watched u pick up peaches & move them all around and if you've been in our store before you know not to do that!! My friend tried to explain she was only picking them up to see if they were bruised & the girl hatefully replied "if you need to see if they're good you bring them up to the counter & I will tell you if they were good or not!!". The employee was hateful and rude and has no business dealing with public!!! I was beyond mad, we are all in our 50s & have NEVER been treated with such disrespect, unprofessionalism, rudeness by anyone!! If this employee had a problem with my friend looking at the peaches or touching them OR if she moved them then the employee should have made a comment upon the time my friend did this "horrible sin". I got into a confrontation with her when I told her I don't want my purchase because I don't like the way she treated my friend!! I told her she needed an attitude adjustment, she screamed back that I needed a attitude adjustment. She then had the audacity to come out to my car to take a picture of my license plate??? REALLY?? I will go anywhere else to get my produce. I don't care how far I have to drive. They are rude and do not even have good produce. PS- if you're going to tell someone they have to have a mask, you may want to make sure you at least know how to wear one. It's supposed to cover your NOSE and not slouch halfway down your face. En route from Mississippi to Mobile, Alabama, you will come across Hamilton Produce. We just stopped in to try the boiled peanuts (they taste like beans). The peaches smell amazing so we picked up a basket. And they have locally made pralines and peanut brittle and pickled everything! But the best part is the people! This is our go-to stop to and from Mississippi for boiled peanuts...they also have tomatoes, oranges and various other fruit...They sell bottled soda to wash down your peanuts and fruit... The peanuts are always wonderful and taste great. The employees are very friendly... The shop is very clean and organized...The prices are reasonable... read more

Terrific tomatoes! This is where we get our tomatoes at $2.99 a basket it's too good a deal to pass up. They also have cantaloupes, watermelons, and the usual assortment of fruit and canned goods inside. Very nice friendly staff. Best boiled peanuts I've ever had! Truthfully, I had never had a boiled peanut until about 10 months ago when I moved to this area, and it took my wife a while to convince me that I should try them. Once I discovered this place, all of the other bland, boiled peanuts she had fed me were wiped from my mind! Their "Cajun" recipe is delicious! I drive by this place once or twice a week and am always compelled to pull over and buy a pound or two for the two of us. They also have a really great selection of local produce and jams/jellies. It's a nice place to grab some fresh peaches or a good jar of local honey. Do yourself a favor and stop in to see what all they have to offer. Don't leave without some peanuts! read more

If your a fan of fresh boiled peanuts this is the place to go. Its not the canned ones they have at other places such as gas stations. Their produce is a bit pricey, all looks fresh whenever I've been there. They also have amish butter, which is the only butter i will use now. Employees are friendly and quick on the peanuts, as you are not allowed to get your own. They also have a selection of planted flowers, which you can see as you pull up. read more

Fantastic service. Sweet blonde lady who is always in a great mood and super nice. Extremely nice guy I met tonight who was just awesome to me.. I'd been driving from tampa and was in great need of the boiled peanuts. He was so awesome helping me out!!! Just like the service, the peanuts are amazing. If you are ever going to introduce anyone to boiled peanuts... These would be the first and the last impression of what the texture and taste should be like... If you are traveling through the state to head to Florida or anywhere else for that matter, you must stop here. The fruit is always fresh and lots of little fun treats for everyone.
