We stopped by in the midafternoon and were not surprised to find it busy, with a line out front. Fortunately, the wait was only about 15 minutes, and we were seated at a table in the back. We tried just about everything on the menu, and honestly, every dish was excellent. The food was some of the best Mexican food I have ever had, and the restaurant completely lives up to the hype. One of the highlights was the dish served with bone marrow. We spread it over the tacos, and it added an incredible richness and depth of flavor. My favorite was the trompo taco, made with shaved pork from the spit. It was flavorful, juicy, and easily one of the best tacos I had during the trip. The sauces were also fantastic. There were several different varieties of hot sauce, each with its own flavor and level of heat, and I enjoyed trying all of them. The atmosphere is casual and lively, and the line moves quickly. If you are visiting Mexico City and love tacos, Tacos Del Valle is absolutely worth a visit. The food is outstanding, and I would gladly go back.

This is another trendy taco spot. They do not have a Michelin Star but they are recognized with a Bib Gourmand designation. Let me start by saying that these are good tacos, but I would not wait 1.5 hours again for these. It doesn't matter if you come day or night, there is a big wait in line that goes to the corner of the street. If you hit the corner, you are looking at a 2+ hour wait. We weren't quite at the corner so we were at the 1.5 hour wait mark. The inside of this place is small; there are few tables and some bar stool seating where you can see them preparing the tacos. The seating was comfortable BUT the tables were super flimsy. You could not rest your arms on the table without them bending, so we almost spilled our drinks a couple of times. My favorite was their carne asada. I had their Tijuanita taco, which is massive! It is a carne asada taco with aguacate (guacamole) and papa rallada dorada (shredded fried potato). It is served with a special salsa and a lime. The salsa tasted too much like tomato. It reminded me of a canned American salsa that you buy next to the chip aisle. Instead I used their red and green salsa that they have on the table for you. You are not able to order just two tacos. My husband tried ordering the trompo negro fuego and the carne asada, but they automatically come with three tacos....of the same kind. He ended up ordering the trompo orden mixta which comes with the two tacos I just mentioned plus the trompo rojo de pork belly. This kind of stinks because what if I want two asada and one trompo negro? It bugs me when spots do that. The trompo rojo tasted like your traditional al pastor while the trompo negro had a smokey/charcoal flavor. They were both delicious. We really wanted to try the flautas so we ordered the flautas deshebrada con aguacate (shredded beef with guacamole). They were tasty with a good crunch and were filling. Needless to say we were in a food coma after all this food. They also have other unique options like bone marrow tacos, and I hear the gaonera de filete taco is amazing. If you are brave enough for this wait, at least you'll know there are good tacos at the end of the tunnel.

A lovely lady right away takes your order and heats up your pastry right there and then. She serves both sweet and savory pastries. I had the 'tinga' and 'chorizo'. I did not have high expectation but oh, surprise! These are proper pastries! Out they came my two fluffy 'pastis' generously stuffed. You can see the layers as you work through it. The flavors are settled yet tasty. I will definitely stopped by again to try others!
