Such a fun event!!! So much burgers so make sure to come hungry! There was also a good variety of options like fries and cookies and donuts and lots of beer from different local breweries and Tito's vodka and rum and whiskey and cafecito!! Such a good time to go with friends or in a group and make sure to pace yourself so you don't get too full too quick

What an amazing experience. The best of the local hamburger joints all in one place and they all brought their A games. Everything was very well organized and moved smoothly. With the crazy amount of people I was surprised how quickly the lines moved. I will definitely come back nextbyear

Wow! This was an awesome event! This was my first year at the Hamburger House Party and it exceeded my expectations 100%. There's a lot of parking available, you just have to walk a short distance to get into the facility. Once you walk in, you're given a wristband and go through a security check. I got there about 15 minutes before the event started so I had to wait a short line before getting in. The event started at 7:15 on the dot! There were SO many burgers and hotdogs to try from. Each booth had the name of the burger/hotdog as well as the ingredients. You were able to walk around and pick up as many samples as you wanted and sit down or stand by the tables located at the middle. Make sure to pace yourself when eating. I was so overwhelmed by the amount of food that I ended up getting full before being able to try everything. The deserts were amazing (shoutout to MOJO donuts)! The beer selection was nice... not my favorite, but it definitely hit the spot after stuffing my face with food. Oh, and the even had a live band! I had a great time and would definitely love to come back! :)

I'll start by describing my three favorites: "Morning in Havana" by 109 Burgers (brown sugar, coffee rub and a ham croqueta), the Miami Burger from Fat Moe's (hole in the wall hidden in a gas station y'all!!) with jalapeño peppers and sweet plantains (maduros), and the Tokyo Burger from Woody's in which the pickled ginger and Wasabi play very nicely with the teriyaki beef. There was also the Dr. JELLY (blueberry jelly on a burger from my 561 haunt MEAT Eatery and Taproom.) For about the third year in a row, the Burger Beast put together Miami's most tasty food event for burger connoisseurs at the Magic City Casino. If you're a burger foodie, the $30 something admission is a great deal since you get to munch on as many burgers as your heart and belly can stomach in a 3 hour timespan. Oh, and not just burgers: this year's admit got you a free Budweiser, all around free cokes and tasty dessert creations such as the Fruity Pebbles and white chocolate cookie from Night Owl Cookies. (109 also had a Materva Float but I'm probably the only Cuban who doesn't like that stuff.) Mr Beast himself is super pleasant taking time to greet the folks who stop by his table, and the event trophy is a Cow's head (see all my Miami Lakes check in LOL). Adding to the tasty grub, there was also a great 80's cover band playing everything from New Order to Berlin, and I think even some Pet Shop Boys. I'm looking forward to year 4, and all the creative bites!

Burger Beast has done it again! What an amazing burger event! Hamburger House Party definitely topped last year's Burger Brawl. Thank you Burger Beast for having these events in Miami for everyone to enjoy. Everyone was groovin' to the sounds provided by DJ Volksmusic aka Juan. He's the best and our group (group of friends that I normally attend these events with) always walks on over to him to say "hello". At one point we took him the burger that Jr's Gourmet Burgers presented so he can try it because it was so unique and delicious. I can honestly have that bacon wrapped burger with an egg for breakfast everyday (WON the People's Choice Award). Live band playing music was cool too. No lines! Everything was smooth! I did not wait to be admitted. Checking into the event was a breeze. I did not wait at any of the burger stations to have a burger. The event was very well organized. Tito's Homemade Vodka and Jim Beam were onsite providing cocktails to everyone who attended. You get a Budweiser also and a chance to spin the "Bud Wheel" for a prize (My buddy won a Budweiser Beach Chair, his wife won a Budweiser T-Shirt, and I got a lousy koozie). Night Owl Cookie Co., HIP POP, and Sweetness Bakeshop provided delicious desserts. I got a chance to try all the burgers. They were all fantastic. My favorite was Crackers Casual Dining. A young lady named Lara was handing out their burgers and she was just the sweetest person ever! She provided a great explanation of what the ingredients were and answered all questions asked. Their setup was very nice! Jr's Gourmet Burgers had a great breakfast burger that was wrapped in bacon and they won "The People's Choice Award" (shout out to Miami Springs for representing to the fullest). Ok, there's something about Pincho Factory. I don't know what it is but their burger was on point. They're always on point. Nedal puts something in the food that no one can get; its magic. The older lady passing out the burgers from Wisconsin was adorable and her burgers were ridiculously good. I can't leave out the non-burger plate. Magic City Pizza and their Chicken Parmesan Slider was out of this world. I always see pictures of their pies on Burger Beast's Instagram account. I need to visit them soon and order a giant pie. I had a blast at Hamburger House Party. I can't wait to attend another Burger Beast Event! Thank you Magic City Casino for providing the space for all Burger Beast Events. I'm looking forward to visiting the Burger Museum once it's done.

First time to Burger Brawl, it was an extraordinary event! Awesome chance to taste sliders from various establishments.

First time at Burger Brawl thanks to my awesome daughter, Gaby B. All I can say is it was great! For a great detailed review see Gaby B. What I will tell you is 1) don't eat all day 2) get there early 3) grab a table 4) go comfy 5) pig out!!! Can't wait for next year!!!!!

Updating my review since this review is now for the 2nd Burger Brawl (2015). I'm going to guess that a lot more people attending this years event due to increase in word of mouth, which may have resulted in a little bit more chaos, combined with the fact that the event was moved indoors. Good for those who like AC, but overall it felt a little bit claustrophobic and hectic - combined with the fact that the cooking was still done outside and burgers needed to be moved quite a distance inside to the serving station. That being said - still a FANTASTIC event, and for $25 (early bird tickets) this is by far the best event in the area! For $25-$35 you get to try 20 burgers, a few other snacks, desserts and drinks! Ok, I didn't try them all, but I did manage to devour about 13 different options! Burgers - I was actually surprised to see my fav, Jr's Gourmet was the actual winner (usually my taste buds differ from the rest) but that guava and cream cheese flavor combo can work on anything, and yes even a burger! Other honorable mentions - BC, Latin House, GastroPod, ok seriously everything was delicious! Drinks - I'm on a detox, so I skipped all the alcohol and stuck to water. But I did end up with an awesome Kraken rum shirt! Snacks - Didn't try a frita since I've learned they aren't my thing, but it's nice to see a few other non-burger options. Pretty sure there were fries as well since I saw some people enjoying them, but I didn't look too hard for them. Desserts - Bunnie Cake's guava cupcake was divine, but seriously that ice cream was AMAZING!! I'm not the biggest ice cream person, but I could eat that cinnamon flavor all day! What a treat!! The butter pecan was great as well. So yes, crowded, and by 8:30 it was pretty unbearable, luckily I was FULL and dipped out. But arriving right at 7pm gave me pretty empty access to all the tables and I was able to try all the burgers I wanted without much hassle. Nice to see all the tables and chairs as well, which I didn't use, but a definitely step above other food events! Also, and this may sound stupid, but THANK YOU for making sure all the tables had napkins. Burgers are messy and napkins can be a life saver! So, if it was up to me, I'd move back outside, but again, I'm not 100% sure if this smaller space made me feel more crowded, or if there truly were more people there! Either way, AMAZING event, and trust me I go to a lot of food events. For your money this is hands down the best!

This would be my first burger event ever. Therefore you can imagine I was very excited, I felt like a little kid inside a candy store. Everyone has that burger joint in town they love going to for their favorite burger, now imagine having all those go to spots in one location and each one creating something that's just simply mouthwatering for your pallet! For the price you couldn't beat this event. Although "Latin House" won the competition, each restaurant deserves an enormous amount of credit, I saw people hard at work slaying over a hot grill making sure they had samples for everyone. In addition, Ice sparkling water, Coconut water and Samuel Adams were providing refreshments for everyone to wash down all those stuffing there face. Let me tell you I have always been a fan of coconut water and ICE but I had never tried Summer Time Ale, it was very refreshing and I am sure they were like "this guy again". You also had a healthy dose of food trucks Sakaya and El Rey de las Fritas along with Marlie Delights which had these delicious Caramelized Bacon sweets that made my tongue cringe with excitement. Azucar was also there providing homemade cuban ice cream, I mean seriously it's a fat kids heaven, and all for $40 bucks?!!! Can't be beat. Burger & Beer Joint, Swine, Latin House and Charm City were among my favorite, I can understand why Latin House won, that green topping sauce was exactly as described. Very sweet at the beginning then a kick at the very end that put all the flavors together and made for a amazing burger. If I were to find a flaw it would be I believe there should have been water stations as well along with the free vendors, and the live band could have been a little better, maybe more benches or chairs but all in all I had a great time and can't wait to go again for another event. Solid 4.5!

I'm all about that Burger, that Burger, no Veggies... This year the Brawl was held inside the 305 Stage space in the Magic City Casino which afforded the attendees the benefit of Air Conditioning. But, let me tell you, at one point I felt like a freakin' canned sardine in there! Como habia gente Dios Mio! I arrived early because I knew there would be pandelirium once the crowds started so I was able to sample 19 out of the 20 participants. Only one wasn't entirely ready and if you were there early, you know who I mean. All the burgers were amazing. Amongst my favorites were the returning champions, Latin House and their "a caballo burger", Jr's Burgers with his guava infused burger, Jersey Dawgs and their simple slider, and Local with that cheesy croquette inside the burger. It was difficult to choose one, but I did. Later on in the evening, I was able to see the different teams' action backstage (er... outside), and boy were they hustling! I had never seen so many grills going at the same time! The crowd was amazing and the music even more so. Last I heard there were a thousand people there, all hungry and quite vocal. I skipped the alcohol and stuck to water this time. Yeah, learned my lesson from last year... It was an awesome event and a million gracias to all the participants and Burger Beast! I do hope we do outside again next year. It may be a little warm, but there'll be more room to roam. As for me, I know that at some point I ended up talking to a bottle of Alka-Seltzer after all that food..... Hasta next year!!

"This is like Ultra for fat people". I fasted for a week and six hours in preparation for Burger Brawl. You are never fully aware of what you're capable of until you're surrounded by tents of burger samples. I felt like Squidward Tentacles in that episode of Spongebob Squarepants where he eats thousands of Krabby Patties and is not sorry. Latin House, OTC, and Swine were undoubtedly the reigning champions of that night. Actually, Burger Beast was the reigning champion that night. Thank you for making my dream of a burger buffet come true.

What an awesome event... Burgers, drinks, desserts, live music, 80's arcade games.... What more could you ask for... The best part, besides eating all the burgers, is being able to vote for your favorite. Although I did enjoy Jr's Bacon wrapped burger, I was sure that Doce Provisions was going to win. Their burger had fried cheese, truffle oil and the bun was fresh and warm... Yummmm... My mouth is watering just thinking about it... Anyways... back to the event.... It was so much fun.... So organized... No lines to wait in and everyone was very nice... Can't wait for the next Burger Beast Event... :)

All the grilling takes place outside the air conditioned venue.

We decided to eat lunch at Morton's to break up the day a little from walking, then we continued our day throughout the festival. I did a little shopping at Essence Boutique, which I love to come to when I'm in this area of Coral Gables. I also bought some dips and other trinkets from the festival. I feel like some of the food they had at this event was not their best. The standouts for me were the shrimp ceviche from Suviche and salmon and rice from Temple Street Eatery. These were excellent. Rusty Pelican won the big award. Their dish was tasty. It was ribeye and shrimp I believe. (No sign describing the dish on table) I wanted to try the lobster salad from Catch and Cut but they were about to go on stage for the competition when I went by twice. All in all, this event is nice because it is food, drinks and music on the beach at night. It was a nice, breezy evening, so that made it even nicer. But if I break it down on most of the food food and even most of the drinks, it is just ok. I expected real high quality seafood and it just didn't cut it for me. Seafood Slam was during the day and it got hot! This event was pretty similar in terms of quality of food and drinks. Nothing bad but nothing to write home about. The chef lineup looked incredible, and after having an amazing experience at Burger Bash (with early admission), we were genuinely excited. Unfortunately, this event was the complete opposite. Not only was it more expensive, but it was extremely overcrowded. It was shoulder-to-shoulder the entire time, making it difficult to move, enjoy the atmosphere, or even hear anyone speak. The lines were unbelievably long, and it was nearly impossible to tell where they began or ended -- only to finally reach the front and receive a very small bite of food. There also needs to be serious consideration around sound and entertainment. The event had both a DJ and a live band, and it was way too loud -- you could barely have a conversation. The band, unfortunately, wasn't great and felt overpowering and obnoxious at times. The DJ was much better and played far better music; the overall vibe would have been much more enjoyable sticking with just that. There really needs to be a ticket capacity limit to ensure guest satisfaction. Overselling the event completely took away from what could have been an incredible experience. The organization and overall flow just weren't there. After 45 minutes of frustration and barely tasting anything, we decided to leave and went to Pizza Bar around the corner just to actually get something to eat. The only highlight of the night was spotting Rev Run walking in -- which ended up being the most memorable part of the experience. Burger Bash truly felt like the main event in comparison. We won't be returning to this one. Burger Bash from now on.

I have no children to worry about entertaining, so I just wanted to come here to enjoy seeing all the lanterns and light installations. It was absolutely gorgeous. As a cosplayer wanting to build more light-up props, I enjoyed seeing the lanterns up close. Everything from the entrance gate, the long undulating Chinese dragon with its animatronic head rotating from side to side, the astrological signs, the castles, apple trees, wishing trees, animals, all the flowers, and so much more, were absolutely inspiring and filled my heart with holiday joy. My friend and I enjoyed going around taking photos of the lights. I also appreciated that the pamphlet with the map of the park included photos of how the lanterns were built. The other attraction at the festival was the Chinese acrobat performance. They occurred once per hour, and the performers are very talented. Such amazing display of athleticism! I could have sworn that the adult ticket allowed one dragon ride. Unfortunately, to my disappointment, the dragon rides were ONLY FOR CHILDREN. I felt very mislead and cheated. The food was pricey. Although we ate dinner before coming, I paid $5 for 3 deep fried oreos, and another $5 for a drink (I had hot apple cider, my friend had hot chocolate). Churros were also $5, and just ONE deep fried Twinkie was $6, so I passed on that. Everything else at the festival was geared towards children, so aside from walking around being awe-inspired by the lights, there was nothing else to do. I went to WinterFest at Great America earlier this month, and while I'd say the Lantern Light Festival has much more impressive light displays, WinterFest had much more to offer since in addition to dazzling displays of beautiful lights, they also had roller coasters, more variety of shows, and more activities that not just the kids can enjoy.
