I feel safe, secure, and happy here. I love the view of nature from my window. Parking is no problem. The apartment is easy to keep clean and the rent is affordable due to the town and federal government provisions. The only complaint I have is that some of the residents smoke outside and the smoke goes into my window. I think NO smokers should be allowed. Smoking kills people and it certainly keeps non-smokers away from all the places they go. The nice gazebo always smells like a dirty ashtray so I don't go in there. The people in the apartments vary in senior ages. Some spend their whole day sitting around, smoking cigarettes and making others uncomfortable with their gossip. But after a while I did find several who didn't smoke, had interesting lives, and were fun to visit. I am very grateful to be here. I think you have to make the best of places. If someone gives you bad time and you are treated unfairly, speak your mind and think of ways to get along or move on somewhere else.

Vicki told our friend that we were wasting the apartment because the blinds are down. This is harassment. Vicki also said that we were living in seclusion & shutting out the world. My husband & I both have developmental disabilities and cannot work. Our friend told us that Vicki said that we could work if we wanted to. This is of course disability discrimination. We were harassed in our own home living here. This is a lousy place to live.

They implemented a new policy of requiring work orders for maintenance but when you call in an order, either no one answers the phone or they lose your order. They expect immediate response to their weekly/bi-weekly door notices or they threaten action against you. They tell you when you move in that you have to use Hudson Light and Power electric and say it'll be $100 to transfer it to your name. Incorrect! If you have never had a HL&P account its $300 deposit for residential electric which you get back after 2 years providing you are NEVER late on your bill. The hired landscapers and snow removers are hideous. They do a poor job at best. I was greatly disappointed by the treatment by management especially since not only was I never late with rent but paid rent months in advance.

Also valet trash service from Sun. through Thurs. night! The employees at the leasing office are always very courteous and friendly, and I've had very positive experiences with the manager so far. I liked the vibe of the place from the moment I stepped through the front door of the leasing office. It is a much newer community than some of the others (e.g., Avalon, Royal Crest) that I looked at, and I really appreciate their *truly* dog-friendly policy. It is an apartment complex, yes, but its location makes it less sterile than it probably would be in a more urban locale. I can take my dog for walks on the surrounding roads that are rural and that are home to a beautiful horse pasture and conservation land trail. The residents whom I've met so far have been very nice and friendly. Maintenance is very quick to take care of any incidents/service requests. I recommend this place to everyone, and especially those who have dogs whose breeds are not accepted at other communities.
