My parents used this company for 30 years and had two boilers installed with them but I have to advise you to stay clear.
Without going into any of the earlier problems, we paid £2844 for Halsall's to install a boiler late 2018. They spent 3 days on site installing and testing but when they left the heating didn't actually work because they had wired the thermostat incorrectly. They came back and fixed the wiring the same week without charge, and I was able to clean up the dust and solder they'd left without too much trouble. Unfortunately there was also air in the system so within a couple of months it developed an air lock. Again they fixed the problem, but this time they would not waive the callout charge.
Now, 15 months after installation and 6 weeks after their last service, the heating has failed completely. I rang to arrange an emergency call out but they wouldn't schedule a time until after I paid the £72 callout fee. When I rang back after paying the fee they told me they won't actually do an emergency call out and I would have to wait a minimum of three days without heating. At this stage I found another company and asked them to refund the £72. Six days later I'm still waiting for my money back.
Just ask yourself, why would you choose to do business a company that treats you like that? read more
