Make sure and subscribe to the newsletter in your email. Halloween is something special for this store. Now they have many different ways to express and celebrate your visits to the store. Many random ways to scare. The dragon under the stairs. How about a creepy cool looking chair. The clowns in the back of the store. Now the terrors and scares are all here for you and yours. But bring the fam! It's truly amazing the little kids will have a blast. Now the staff here is so proud of their store and all things Halloween. The scares start here. The selection is too cool! This past weekend I was in a rush and was in need of some Minecraft balloons ... ya know, as one does. They immediately showed me what they had, which worked perfectly. And I was out the door with three Mylar balloons and half of a dozen of regular balloons in less than 10 minutes. I used to have to pick up balloons a lot when I planned events, and I know the time suck that can come from someone slowly inflating several balloons. That was not the case at all here. They were friendly, and asked me questions about when my party was to determine if the balloons needed to have Hi-Float in them to last longer. I also got to peek at the rest of their selection. For not a huge space, it is chock full of party decorations, costumes and more. This is a great spot to go when in need of some extra party pizzazz!

Hearing of this special Halloween section me and my wife headed out to check out the shop. Wife and I are helping our daughter's eighth Grade class plan a haunted playground and we needed supplies and decorations for the haunted playground. The set ups and decorations they have here we're all very cool and different from other Louisville aria and Indiana area Halloween specialty shops. They had a very nice and large mask area that was really cool and has very unique and different Halloween mask for costumes. The store is medium size very well kept. The service on this trip was well they helped us find what we needed. Also I left with about 12 cans of silly string some carnival related decoration such as clown horns and other carnival props. Overall this is a really cool place and a fun place to browse and check out all the cool Halloween decorations, costumes, masks and supplies. Me and my family will likely make the short trip from Louisville to Jeffersonville Indiana for the future years to check out this place during Halloween season.

I found just that at the locally-owned Playthings Toy Shoppe in the Westport Village! Oh how I love to support locally-owned businesses! I was pleased to browse the aisles and find that they were chock full of unusual, traditional, and more educational toys than I had found in the toy sections of the big box stores where brands like Barbie, Transformers, Paw Patrol and Stars Wars make up the bulk of the offerings. The toys were thoughtfully arranged, as if by age, and employees are ready to help with your selection if need be. Prices were in line with those of online specialty toy stores that sell these types of toys. Free gift wrapping is offered, which is a huge relief for those of us who do not enjoy gift wrapping! I highly recommend visiting Playthings if you are toy shopping. Parking is plentiful at the Westport Village of shops.

The prices were fair, and it excels at having educational toys and brands you might not find at the big box stores, which I very much appreciated. My son is into dinosaurs for the moment, so I went on Playthings' website and found a great set of dino figures. I was able to buy it online for local pick-up, and the icing on the cake -- I got it wrapped for free. Free wrapping is a service Playthings provides. I also want to commend Playthings on their great customer service. I ordered this right as the ice storm was starting, and they called me to see if I wanted to still pick up that day. The employee I talked to was concerned I would come out when they had closed early. I picked up the toy a couple of days later. Especially if you have kiddos to buy for, don't overlook Playthings.

I've had mixed to declining results and, with this last visit, I am done! The customer service has always been weak and now I'm at the breaking point. Because I have limited time each visit, I try to email a list of what I'm looking for in advance. Management either doesn't check their email or simply don't care. Last week, I called twice and unfortunately got the same person who thoroughly discouraged emailing in favor of coming in because "it would be easier" and "they don't have time to look." Easier for whom? Certainly not the returning costomer. Since they're close to the airport and I had time, I stopped in anyway on Fri. I spoke with who I believe to be the owner and he also wasn't too interested in making time to check books that he said he had in the back that were recently purchased. They were apparently getting ready for a sale the next day and possibly making a sale in the moment was clearly not that important. They made a copy of my list, took my name and number and said they would check. I made it clear that I was leaving Mon, today. As of 1:00, no call. So I called the store. The clerk who answered has no idea I'm talking about and was very dismissive, and the owner isn't there until tomorrow. They don't talk their employees anymore than their customers. So, that's it. I've had it with them and won't be going back even if they had the hardest to find book on my list. One of the worst shops I've ever been to for customer service. Shame on me for having given them multiple chances to do right.

This place always has something new and inter sting every week we go. I take my two boys there and they love to look at the comics, toys, and collectibles. Shopping in person at a toy store -- that used to be shopping gold for shopping experiences…read more Shopping online has pretty much taken that away, but I got that feeling of joy perusing toys again when I was recently back at Playthings, shopping for my daughter's birthday presents. Like on my first visit, I appreciate Playthings great selection of educational and fun toys. Their selection gets away from gimmicky action figures, Barbies, etc., and focuses more on thoughtful toys. For example, I noticed several Melissa & Doug toys. I took my time to browse a bit, and then one of the employees asked me if they could help. I mentioned that I was shopping for my soon-to-be 1-year-old daughter and her friend, who was also celebrating a birthday. The employee pointed out toys that I may not have considered otherwise. In particular, I bought a great magnet matching game and cuddly baby doll with a magnet pacifier. (Not sure why magnets became the theme, but here we are.) Playthings also gift wraps, which is such a nice touch that helped me cross an additional item off my to-do list. My son turns 4 in just a couple of weeks. I'll definitely be back to find something great for him!

I've seen Tik Tok videos of places like this and some people seem to find really good finds. Idk if I can say the same but, I did find quite a bit of stuff. They have quite a bit of mystery delivery packages some of them Amazon, however you can't open them on the floor, you have to take them to a station to open them. I found mostly bedding and Kid stuff, I did find a refrigerator filter which I didn't need but, it was a surprising find. I did find one bottle of Victorias Secret lotion as well. Everyday they have a different price for the stuff in the bins. Thursday is 25 cent day but, from 9am-4pm. I would suggest going when they open though. I will come back on a day as they are about to open to see if I can find some better finds. Another thing is they do not accept cash just Credit/Debit cards, Apple and Google Play.

One time I had gone there & I found ceramic dishes it took me over an hour looking through multiple bins to look for a set of 4, I told the cashier to be careful because there were fragile items in my cart & what does she do? break it!!! I was furious! The lack of consideration from everyone there is beyond me! I love finding craft items, but a lot of items arent salvageable because shoppers there!! The resellers are ruining it for people & just overall could be better managed..
