They installed it without asking any questions, and after they left I noticed the hoop could only extend to a max of 6 feet tall, rendering it useless. Why wouldn't you talk to me before you cemented it in? Now I'm out $225 and all they offered to do is cut it down and I got the reply " we did what you asked us to do." * update: the "Fabulous Mr. Fix It" still hasn't removed the hoop as promised. THE SHORT: Unethical business practices and too many better options in the market. Fellow…read morecontractors and homeowners should steer clear. Lester brothers is a better source of top soil, mulch and gravel. Sandy's Landscape is a better alternative for landscape supplies and installations. But I'd certainly never do business with Wilcox again. THE LONG: We ordered 10 yards of 411 limestone and 2 yards of #10 limestone. We received 2.5 yards of #10 and 6.5 yards of 411. We honestly assumed they were gonna do two truckloads and called to see when they would be out to deliver the second load. The receptionist laughed at me and transferred me to the owner. The owner proceeded to tell me I was an idiot and probably over excavated our area by 3.5" average. We formed and transit leveled an average of 4.5". We were shooting for 4" and were anywhere from 3.5-5.5" at the deepest. Let's call it an average of 4.5" (to be generous to them). The forms were 32' long and 13 feet wide. That comes out to 5.7 yards (being generous). Plus we poured some at the entrance of the patio (let's call it a yard to be generous). 6-7 yards. Whats weird is that we got the right amount of #10. Im guessing they could bring in a few hundred thousand dollars a year doing this and honestly, who is forming up their gravel/mulch? This was a unique situation where we wanted a perfectly sloped base so we screeded the gravel like concrete. To fix it we had to order a second load of 10 yards and pay for it. This time I measured the truck. If the truck was full to the brim it would be 10 yards. I'll let you be the judge of whether or not you think that truck in the photo is full. (We got less than 8 yards the second trip-once we got the rest in the forms) We would have ended up short on our own estimate and ended up needing 12 yards total and were prepared to go get a couple yards to fill in around the patio. But got less than half done because we were short so much. We ended up getting less than 15 yards total. we have 2-3 left over and 12 under the patio. Yes, including the compaction rate which is about a half an inch at this depth. The owner and driver were incredible rude throughout the whole process. We invited them out to double check our math. The owner Jeff said he would come out twice to check and remedy and never showed either day. We also invited them to let the driver check out the forms and take measurements while he was out delivering the second load. He never left the truck. We were more than willing to have our math corrected and let them double check the measurements. They were uninterested in resolving it and at the end offered us $100 refund which we refused because it doesn't seem right. We got less than 15 yards and paid for 20. I get why they would do it. I just don't want to have any part of it. I'll let you be the judge. After this was all done I thought back to the last time I used them for mulch delivery. I alway bought bagged mulch and always had extra. I ordered the same from them and came up short. I assumed it was my math. Now I question that. This is how they do business. To give them the benefit of the doubt, Im not sure they even know they are swindling people. They just seem to be uninterested in verifying or correcting it. I had a dying tree in my front yard that I've intended for some time to have removed, but suddenly…read more(in a bitter cold spell) I discovered that a 50 ft tree in my back yard had a serious split that would cause a major limb to fall on my house and the electrical line. Everyone I dealt with - Raell, Kane, and Gordon - made it clear that they took it very seriously and readjusted their schedule to ensure that it was taken care of as soon as possible - two days after I accepted their estimate. Because access to the back (fenced) yard was very tricky (another company wanted to drive over my neighbor's yard and take part of the fence down) they were able to bring a large machine that parked in my front yard and skillfully reach over the house to cut it down and remove the wood over the roof (!). They had both trees down in one day, with no damage, and all through the process they were very concerned for my safety and convenience. It was not the cheapest estimate I received, but I definitely felt more confident in their capability to do such a complicated job and I felt all through the process that I was in good hands. I definitely recommend them.

I had them come out one year ago (2022) in the fall to replace my roof. They came in one day and…read morethere were several issues. The main issue I had was all the flashing is wavy and not put back correctly -- looks like I did it and that doesn't say much. They also tore holes in my screens, left so much stuff behind including: several tools (left on the roof and in the lawn), the waking platform they added to put up the roof, and asked to keep the big truck in my driveway overnight, which I found odd. I asked the owner the come take a look at what was wrong, he did and assured me the workers would come back and fix it. They did come back but said it was too cold to actually fix the wavy flashing (supposedly you need warm weather to put up straight flashing) and they would come back this spring (2023) to fix it. I've text the owner several times to come back and am 'assured' they will come back but NOTHING. Here I am a year later and I am now going to pay someone to come fix it. Be careful, they do not stand behind their work to come fix things -- they are on to the next job. I really trusted them and I'm sad they are not following up. Very disappointed.

I've been up on the roof numerous times cleaning gutters and whatnot, and everything seems top notch. We are now in the process of selling our home, due to a corporate relocation. The buyer's inspector found a minor leak near the chimney. I called Burke's and asked them if they could come out and take a look at it. Mike Burke himself came out and took a look and determined that some flashing had been damaged by a raccoon that had tried to claw his way into our home. Even though this was not Burke's fault, he said that he would repair the damage at no cost because the roof was still under warranty. He didn't even ask to see any paperwork or receipts or anything. Mike Burke did a great job on the repair, was very professional and courteous, and I would totally hire him in a heartbeat if I ever needed a new roof in this area -- and he has a *solid* hand shake. I would give this guy 6 stars if I could.

The supplies (13 windows and a house full of siding) were dropped off in the middle of my driveway during a snowstorm. The 1 man doing all of the work by himself didn't show up for days. My husband had to move 13 windows and boxes of siding by himself in the snow because my car was trapped inside my garage by the supplies. I had to call multiple times to see if anyone was actually coming to do the work while the supplies were sitting out in the snow. Very long story short - the work finally was completed around the end of January 2023 and at that time, everything APPEARED to be fine. The first piece of siding fell off in March 2023. I had to call three different times and was given the run around each time. I finally had to pay someone to come put it back up. The second piece fell a month later - of course this company doesn't answer my calls now, so once again I had to pay someone else to come put it back up. Apparently the 1 person doing all of the work by himself cut the siding tops too short and that's why it isn't staying up??? Now, its March 2024 and ANOTHER piece fell off from above my garage AND the rest of it is now WAVY! I wish I would have just gone with Mays Contruction like I was going to originally, they were cheaper but because I met Clear Vision Windows & Siding at a local Home & Garden Show & they came to my house with a whole set up and very thorough sales pitch, I THOUGHT they would be a better choice - boy was I wrong.
