I made my way over to Bayswater for a peek at the LSC rollerskate selection this past weekend. All…read morebut one pair of roller skates seemed geared toward teens or adults who act like teens. I like to consider myself a kid at heart, but I'm still probably not going to wear skates with a Fall-colour motif on them. That said, if the colourful skates hadn't seemed a bit cheap-looking, then I certainly might have considered trying on a pair, at least. The two pairs of skates, sort of, 'theme neutral' were those that looked to be modeled on a roller-blade or hockey skate and those that looked like a figure skate sans blade. I opted for the white-on-white figure skate-looking skates, asked to try them on, and wound up buying them. The young fellow who helped me is also a figure skater and had lots to say about how the boot should fit, what happens to a foot when boots are too tight (from his personal experience), and, because I asked, what the difference between a professional and amateur ice-skater is. Those who are paid to teach or perform are considered 'professional', whereas those who compete and aren't compensated are considered 'amateur'. The majority of the store is devoted to the sale of ice-skates and roller-blades with skate boards taking up a bit of the display wall, too. I should think that skate enthusiasts of all stripes would do well to visit LSC. Roller-bladers and quad skaters: Hyde Park is only a few blocks from LSC, so take your newly-purchased skates for a spin through the greenery!

Very good customer service. Good selection of products. They even give you some advice. I would…read morerecommend it for people who are just beginning and even advance.

Best Skate shop I have ever been in. They are always helpful and genuinely help when your trying to…read moremake decisions about what to buy. I understand some people will always have a bad experience and anomalies happen, while not placing absolute blame on the customer who did not keep a receipt i wish to put forward my experience. Over the many years that i have been shopping there i have had two incidents that come to mind of purchases failing on me. A pair of snowboard boots that i wore for 4 weeks riding then had the heel fall away from the rest of the boot, I didn't have the receipt but did have a Credit Card statement, they replaced them there and then with the latest model and i went on my merry way. The second incident was surrounding a pair of Bond snowboard pants that ripped on a seam and when returning (with the receipt) they were replaced with next years model. They then ripped in the same place again so we returned them again and this time Bond was gone and no longer trading (possibly due to the quality of garments?) yet SS20 still honored the purchase and let us pick up another pair of equivalent value from another manufacturer. Felt i needed to put a review down to try and reflect how the snowboard and skate community feel about this great skater/snowboarder owned shop is run and that hopefully the bad incident from a couple of years ago as mentioned by Greg-OX4 was an isolated incident of poor attitude by a previous member of staff in a difficult situation?
