They wanted £175 to replace, as they said that they did not replace rubber boots, but "THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY!". I bought the rubber boot part,(£5) and replaced it my self. OK, it was a real bitch, as I did not have access to a Vehicle lift. Then, on the retest, (Out of spite) they tried to fail it again, this time, saying that the "Wipers" were not 100% efficient, when I protested, they agreed that it was a "Pass". These wankers, will try and milk you for all that they can get! Do not be tempted by their cheaper M.O.T fee, as they will make a lot more money, making you pay for unnessasery work! Geoff Fisher.

After plugging it in their diagnostics machine they advised us to take our car to the main dealer as they did not want to continue with finding and fixing the problem. They could not give a specific answer what the problem was and said it could be the oil pump. The car was taken to our nearest main dealer who diagnosed the problem which was low oil ! Surely Halfords should of been able to diagnose and rectify this ??? They also quoted other jobs to consider on their invoice ( changing anti freeze, re do the air con etc ) but failed to find a damaged front tyre ! I was charged £50.00 for the privilege of their so called service.

The staff are incredibly helpful, but the one downside of this is that service can be a bit slow if they're all busy helping other customers. Prices are reasonable too.

My shabby Escort has had a new radiator hose, new clutch, new brake pads (front and rear) and several other parts, all ordered from Motorcare at average prices. However, for paint and cleaning products, as well as most tools, you can be sure of a quick bargain.

They also have a large outdoors section, including tents, bikes and jet washers. Also of note is their range of electrical equipment such as sat-navs, CD players and speakers although their prices are not as competitive as some other online retailers for these items. The staff are very helpful, but not always that knowledgeable about the subject of cars which is a bit disappointing as I do not always feel 100% that I am buying the correct thing. If you need anything specific for your make of car, the chances are they wont have it, so I would class Halfords as being a convenience shop and it has saved me on a number of occasions!

I have recently got an excellent deal off them trading in my 8 year old 37K mile bike for a pre-registered (19 plate) Honda Crosstourer. I have now purchased one second-hand and three new motorcycles from them over the last 12 years. The first new motorcycle I had to request some work to be done under warranty (an unusual dip in Honda quality) and they accepted the request without quibble. Hadrian and his team are excellent in putting the customer first. They provide excellent advice and it becomes obvious that they don't always put a potential profitable sale at the top of their agenda when giving advice. My wife and I have started to buy all of our gear from there as well and, in the past, the team have assisted me in getting a supplier to replace the an expensive piece of kit where it has failed to meet the standard expected (top of the range Revit Gloves). All in all, we are impressed by their commitment to the customer and service. And to top it all, they have a very good café there that provides good refreshments and food at very reasonable prices - used by bikers, lorry drivers and delivery drivers alike.

A wolf in sheep's clothing, no less. He advertised it on Autotrader for 6.600 pounds. A marvelous perfect gem that has no issues at all, he said. He kept telling me he was not a mechanic and that this was his wife's car. What a fool I was. What kind of thief invites you into his home so he can trick you? Fast forward. The next day the DPF light switched on, and my journey started. To make a long and painful story short! After four diagnostic checks at different garages, including the Audi dealership, which cost me 500 pounds. I found out the following: - The old man, works as an MOT technician and owns Autocare Canterbury. A Family-run business. This was the same family that sold me the car. Surprise! - They blanked the EGR valve because it was faulty and remapped the car's ECU so our OBD scanner doesn't find anything. It took me two months to find this out. It costs 900 pounds to fix. - They concealed with dirt that the car was hit in the front and cheaply repaired. After I washed it, I saw the damage. The wing needs repainting. 100 pounds. - I needed a new clutch after 2.000 miles only, 1.100 quid plus fitting. - The distribution kit, timing belt, and water pump that he ''changed'' couldn't be traced back on the receipt he provided. Probably another lie which will cost another 800 pounds. - He reverse-engineered the car's mileage like a pro. I got written proof. And God knows what might be wrong with this vehicle, and I didn't found out yet. This car would never pass an MOT check due to the missing EGR valve, but this company made it possible with its incredible trickster skills and devotion. They are dodgy people. I know they don't look like much but check them out on their website at AUTOCARE CANTERBURY. OUR TEAM. Don't be fooled like me. They are vicious criminals. And racist too. He was talking down on me and my friend, acting all superior. This should've been the first red flag, but we all learn from our mistakes. I hope. I think this is a clear case of fraud. I will see what the police have to say about it. I got all the evidence to back it up. And his fake receipts. And the phone conversations where he tells me he is not a mechanic but owns a repair garage. And a witness, the guy who tested the car with the OBD scanner before I bought it. Wow, that's a lot to get him where he needs to be. Stay away from this garbage garage and people!!! I hope this saves a soul from going through what I did.
