Last night's was a Joaquin Phoenix double bill, showing Walk The Line followed by Two Lovers. While we ended up skipping the first film and just having dinner, the price is still very reasonable. We shared a lovely bottle of wine outside on the terrace (had to sit on the wall though as all the tables were full) with amazing views of the river and Hammersmith Bridge. Back inside for dinner, which we shared: a large mezze platter and some mushroom bruschetta, both of which were delicious and just enough. The cinema itself is what every cinema should be: small and dark, with the seats on an incline so everyone can see. They showed the previews and ads WAY before the start time (PERFECT!!), even drew the curtains in between the previews and the film itself (DRAMATIC!!). Riverside has much more to offer than just a restaurant and a cinema... it also shows stand-up comedy, has a fully functioning tv studio where they film live shows, a theatre for live music, and art exhibitions. A wonderful space with quality at every turn.

Step inside and anticipate delightful beers and ales, but wait, there's more! The food is delicious! Steaks are cooked to order perfectly. Our table ordered three mediums and one medium rare - delivered to spec. Another night we arrived with two young grandsons in tow; Tommy was attentive to their requests and prepared giant take-home boxes for later enjoyment. I can vouch for the gnocchi - wonderful texture and taste. Distillery has a corner location with a large patio dining area and two rooms inside, one outfitted with a fireplace, doubtless cozy on a chilly night. Upstairs are facilities and another room for private occasions. Don't miss the wonderful old sinks in the Ladies Room (can't vouch for the Men's).

Upstairs in where the comedy and music is played - This is a funky space with dark wood panelling, oldie worldy flock wallpaper and is comfortable for sitting down and enjoying the acts on that night. I think that the pub puts real effort into this part of the pub and some sort of entertainment is on most nights. Downstairs it has the same quality feel to it with ample sofa's chairs and stools to enjoy a pint or drink and also to get fed if required. There is a good space outside with a pebbled garden which is used in the summer for bbq's. My visit was early evening on a Friday night and appeared popular with the local workers - Doctors from Charing Cross hospital and media types from the business unit across the road. Not a bad little pub that gets busy and has a nice feel about it. Website is not good, so call the pub direct for details of what is on and when

My first time here was for a Yelp event, and then I returned with another friend to see Matt Bianco. This place is just incredibly comfortable. Great views everywhere thanks to the raised outer circle, and far more seating than I've ever seen in a venue with a dancefloor. Lots of small and large booths to accommodate your group, no matter how many people you came with. The raised area is lined with a bar and lots of bar stools, so you can sit down comfortably, set down your beer to applaud, and enjoy a perfect view of the stage, while those behind you can easily see the stage over your shoulders. Really well designed. The acoustics here are extraordinary too. I do wish they'd have some more popular acts, or, you know, ones I actually know (the current events schedule didn't have any names I recognized). I would jump on the chance to see Bruno Mars or James Morrison here again! However, I would definitely make an effort to find a reason or an event to come back to Under the Bridge. My friend felt the same way. Just something very welcoming and comfortable about this place.

They seemed unprofessional, & were completely out of line with how outside security had prepped us for how the doors opening process would be for the 02 line que. I was in line at 14:00, five hours before the listed doors time. My friends & I were the first people there & began the regular line. Security then informed us the 02 que line would be admitted first before the regular standing general admiss in ion line, so two groups of us changed to that line as we had 02 phone verification. What we had been told & how security organized us, never happened & at 19:03 all the doors opened at once. We never would've switched lines had we known. We should've been at the center of the very front inside the venue but instead were off to the sides because the standing GA line had a more direct path to the stairs & got down before we could. It is massively unacceptable that this happened! When I asked an inside security supervisor about it, she told me "we always open all the doors at the same time". I hope this review gets to someone with the power to influence the entire 02 Shepards Bush staff, inside & out, about how terrible their lack of internal communication at this otherwise marvelous event was!!

Reasons to go here are basically as follows. You like a real local pub feel that has an Irish feel, you like watching horse racing, football, rugby or sports events but keep in mind a lot of these will be Irish based or you like live music. For me it was o.k. but the locals were a bit frosty. It has a smoking area front and back and a pool table if you fancy a game. They also have a Golf side, pool team and a fantasy football competition so if these appeal then it might be for you. Don't forget St Patrick's day once a year which I am sure would be a blast (as it is everywhere) - Typical Irish pub, worth a visit if you haven't been to one before or enjoy the craic. It has a very loyal local patronage, so somewhere you might find some new friends if they warm to you.

The food is not great, it very heap at £2 for a sandwich I can only imagine why it is so cheap. I suppose being Irish would help to make any of the above more appealing, but when my husband just had to go there to watch a game, me and my friends had a friendly pool game instead. Even so, I did not feel at ease, simply because of all the blokes, screaming and being very loud and obnoxious. Also some bartenders have a very harsh accent so you must pay close attention, which is hard with all the background noise. The outside area stinks too much of cigarettes as it a heated area and therefore attracts many smokers. Definitely not for me, or anyone who appreciates talking and listening.

I went to see Gillian Anderson last night at the Eventim Apollo, it was a complete farce! We had…read morebeen sent an email from the venue the day before saying that bags larger than A4 wouldn't be allowed in, I was going to be in London all day and needed my stuff, I have a 500ml water bottle that I need to carry. My bag is a small tote and I thought it would be fine. But once I got there it was obvious it was not fine and it seemed like every second person's bag was also not fine. The queue for the bag drop next to the venue was at least 150 deep and I knew that if I waited in that queue I wouldn't have gotten into the venue in time for the show I'd spent £85 on. So I spent the next 30 minutes rushing around Hammersmith trying to find an alternative bag drop (which the closest one was a 10 minute walk away.) When I eventually got in, I spoke to a manager that said since the increased security risk in April these bag measures had been put in place. Instead of the Apollo taking responsibility for these security measures themselves, like acquiring bag scanners or training their security staff how to search bags properly, they have pushed the inconvenience and cost onto the 5000 guests who attend their venue. Conveniently they have opened a PAID bag drop-off next to the venue. If you're going to a gig especially a standing one, you would never take a bag with you, it would be psychotic, but this event was a SEATED BOOK EVENT mainly attended by women, we all had bags and the flat A4 piece of paper that was being waved around by staff was smaller than even a cloth tote bag! When I EVENTUALLY got in, just before the start of the show, (the show was actually postponed for 15 minutes because of the bag farce outside), the host came on stage and the first thing she said was that her girlfriends were still outside waiting in line to drop their bags off! People were being brought into the venue 45 minutes after the show start time disrupting the show! Because of this, it is evident that this was the wrong venue for this type of event and I will be emailing Fane, the event organisers to let them know about this debacle last night, it was obvious it should have been held in a theatre. The only reason I am giving one star and not zero stars is because of the staff at the Apollo, they were fantastic! Every one of them was helpful, understanding and sympathetic of the situation, but I will never come back here for an event like this again.
