However the bar confirms you are - staffed by student types , no obvious managment , same beers and drinks on offer. Its not a bad place but I dont think its somewhere I would chose to go to as a regular pub. We had a couple of drinks and a bit of lunch, we went for the chicken kebabs which were over cooked and dry , saved only by copious amounts of piri piri dip. Of course price wise even for Harrogate its cheap , £20.00 4 drinks and lunch. Conclusion is you could do a lot worse but you can also do a lot better than this place.

As with all the taps, they have a fantastic mix of UK breweries and American craft, Belgian and European brews - plus a bottle menu with beers ranging from a few quid to some very special ones (hello Hopping Frog at £18 and unfortunately not in my price range!) I had an amazing Tiny Rebel/Dark Star collaboration with my wife enjoying a Belgian fruit beer - we were both very very happy with our choices! The actual venue is pretty cool and just the sort of place you want to hangout in, with a clientele of all ages into good quality hoppy stuff! Special mention has to go to the amazing pork pies on sale - £2.50 a pop and from the excellent Elite meats. Mine was amazing and made even better by having 'Sierra Nevada Mustard' served with it - mega yum! While waiting for my meal I enjoyed two excellent local ales. When the food arrived to my table it was perfectly prepared. The chicken curry was well-worth the visit and my fiance enjoyed her scampi. I finished the meal off with some amazing sticky toffee pudding and a cup of espresso. I will be back, for the beer, food, service and atmosphere! This is a hidden gem.

It was really pleasant with a view of street out the window, a fireplace and lots of quirky eclectic pictures on the wall. The food was incredible. We both had a burger, can't remember which, but super meaty, super tasty. Big flavour, big belly. I felt like a fat badger after that. Service wasn't the quickest, but it was cheerful and helpful. It's an appealing looking building from outside to in and has the same people behind it as Arc in Headingley. It was also voted best bar in Harrogate in the Harrogate Confidential Awards and it's a boast that it may well deserve some claim to. For starters the food looks immense. One of their signature dishes is the Kobe burger, the worlds most expensive and decadent beef originating in the Kobe region of Japan. These cows are massaged for a stress free life style. Well as stress free as it can be before you become a burger I suppose. They also do buffet menus which offer a variety of wraps, nibbles and sandwiches. All for under a tenner. The wine list is to my liking. Try the Pinot Grigio blush, ideal drink when the sun comes out. As for the cocktails...This town really is no good for my liver. Inventive and tantalising combinations of juices and spirits. Excellent work. Great for socialising, eating and with a beautifully down interior. There's live music every night of the week and during the day, a relaxed chilled out atmosphere to enjoy some grub and a cuppa or even sample some of the fine lagers on offer via both tap and bottle. Some of the very best local bands feature on the latest listings, while the likes of Jools Holland and Van Morrison have graced the place in its long history in music.
