A pleasant town to explore…read more Called Lindau Insel or Lindau am Bodensee, this ancient city is very popular with tourists. It is a little island connected to the main land by one road. The small streets and alleys are fun to explore. Also, nice walks can be had along the lakeside where you can circumnavigate the island by foot. One church here was established around 1000 years ago and is considered the second oldest church on Lake Constance/ Bodensee.
Gorgeous Bavarian town on the Bodensee. Had no idea about this place and we happened to pick it out…read moreof the map on our drive back from Switzerland to Munich. I am glad we did pick this place. The Insel Lindau is a beautiful Medieval village and has lots of very interesting streets and architecture. It is mostly pedestrianised and I enjoyed walking the streets and exploring the tiny small streets and the little surprises in store in each one. I would love to come back and go sailing from here as the lake itself is huge and the largest in Germany and looks like a weekend of sailing is quite easily possible. If your are a visitor to Bavaria I would recommend a visit to this place as it is well worth it.
