I have not let anyone but Wendy cut my hair for the last five years. I look forward to her warm smile on hair cut days, and enjoy her company immensely. Wendy also cuts my husband's hair and does a fantastic job. We met Wendy when we called Hair South during a difficult time. My hair was falling out due to chemotherapy treatment and I was embarrassed and emotionally fragile. Wendy was very kind to my husband on the phone. Someone with less consideration could have made things worse for us, but Wendy handled that day and the next year with a fantastic mix of warmth and professionalism. She went out of her way to help us through that difficult time. We were pleased to learn that her people skills are matched by her hair cutting skills. My hair is fine and straight. Wendy knows what it can do and what it can't and helps me figure out how to make it look good with a minimum of daily upkeep. She is really quite talented but also realistic about what my hair can do. I like that. read more

I have been a client of Hair South for over 20 years (at least) and have never had a bad experience. I always get the cut and color I want and they have fixed my home-job mistakes with humor and kIndness. Although I usually see Lia or Lisa I have had an experience with all the current stylists and they are all excellent. I see the negative reviews and am appalled. My entire family loyally goes only to Hair South because of the quality of their cuts and the personal appeal of the stylists themselves. read more

Hair South - Hair Stylists Near Me - Clemson, South Carolina

I loved it! Me and the girl who cut my hair talked the whole time and she was so sweet and amazing. My hair came out exactly what I wanted!!

I have gone to Hair South as long as I have lived in the area (14 years) . I've been very pleased with the service. The shop has a nice ambience, people are friendly, and it always is a positive experience, I.e., not just a haircut. read more

I have never been more upset after a hair appointment. I left and went home and cried because my hair looked so bad and I dropped $100 plus tip on it. I got "ombré" done by Lisa but she really just made me look like I haven't gotten my roots done in a while. She did a complete rush job and I know this because I have gotten ombré done by someone who cared and they did way more than just slap a bunch of bleach on my head. She also complained the whole time about how long and thick my hair was and how it was going to take forever. I have never felt more disrespected from a hair dresser. My hair is completely damaged because of her. I will NEVER come to hair south again. I now have to pay another 100+ to get her hack job fixed. Extremely unsatisfied. read more

I went in and requested 2inch trim, settled at 3 because of dead ends. I left with what looks to me to be around 4inches off my hair. She trimmed the hairs framing my face extremely short to the point it is VERY noticeable compared to the entire rest of my head - something I did not approve, she did not ask if I wanted, we did not discuss in any way. It also looks like she gave me layers on one side of my head and not on the other. I'm absolutely embarrassed to have my hair down right now; my hair is wavy and does horribly when different layers... I am extremely disappointed and will not be returning to get my hair cut here again. I was also repeatedly pushed to return every 8 weeks. I have gotten my hair cut every 4-6mths all my life and it's been fine. I did not enjoy the pushing to become a regular client there. read more

After reading positive reviews I decided to try Hair South. I asked for Wendy and had a picture in my hand of a style/cut I wanted. I also needed a highlight but I wasn't sure how to describe the color. Wendy was pleasant but not very friendly. I thought she was just in a quiet mood that day...but then again I didn't know her. She didn't ask many questions about the cut or how it would look with my hair type. She did a good job of getting close to the cut and highlight I wanted...but not great. I then went back 6 weeks later to freshen up the cut. I asked her if she wanted to see the picture of the style I wanted and she said, she remembered and proceeded to give me a different cut completely. I should have insisted on showing her the picture but her confidence and tone told me otherwise. When I got home and got a good look and feel for the cut I was very disappointed. Not stylish, very boring cut. Very frustrating! It's a pain to park in that area due metered parking and the limits on how long you can park and to go to a stylist who is not friendly and doesn't listen really bothered me. For the price (on the expensive side for the area) and the service, I know I can do better (and I did at Soluna). I won't be back, sorry Wendy! read more

I walked in with hair down towards the middle of my back. I requested a 2 inch trim, and left with a 5 inch difference to say the least. I showed pictures of a very long hair style with layers before the cut, said something during the cut where I wanted the length, and even after saying, "hey this is too short" as I noticed during the cut, it was just brushed off. Before I could say anything, product was applied to my hair that was not meant to be blow dried and I fully intended on leaving the salon with a styled, TRIMMED, long haircut. I left the salon with a wet head, a short haircut I absolutely did not want, and mortified. Do not go here, they will not listen. read more

I'll never go there again. I showed a sample picture to the stylist, it was a simple undercut but she could not make it. Finally, she had to make my hair super short and it looks ridiculous. Now my head looks like a funny irregular polyhedron. That's the worst haircut in my life. read more

I graduated this past May and still have debated making a trip to get my hair cut here. They were friendly, convenient, and most importantly, did a fabulous job every single time. read more

Wendy, Lisa?--Can't remember now. This was a year ago. I feel it's my moral obligation to warn people from going to Hair South, after reading the positive reviews (planted?). There were no questions asked, no acknowledgment of my requests, no interest, no effort--TERRIBLE! I felt like a nag asking them to please listen. They were in some sort of stupor. Very aggressive promotion of their hair products, however--she suddenly came alive! No thanks. read more

The cut was alright, not really what I asked for but not awful. She never asked me where I part my hair while cutting it, which I thought was weird. She also didn't offer to style it after blowdrying it. It took less than 30 min for a cut I paid $40 for. Definitely not worth the price. read more

I have been going to Hair South for years and have always had great experiences. Wendy is extremely professional, personable, and great at what she does. I have also seen Frank and he is phenomenal as well. I recently moved to Greenville and still drive back to Clemson once a month for their services. When you find the best, there is no reason to go anywhere else. read more

If you are a fake blonde DO NOT go here. I am literally having a PTSD experience. I went here during my freshman year when my roots started to grow in because I could easily walk from my dorm and tbh there are a lot of fake blondes and not a ton of hair salons so I was like oh they should know how to help me. Let me tell you I was DEAD WRONG. Not only did the girl dye my roots orange but then she tried to dye other parts of my hair orange to "match my roots" like what?? I wanted a simple root touch up not to be ginger!! read more

Honestly, eh. I don't know if the hairdresser was having a bad day but she was pretty silent, asked maybe two questions about what I wanted, finished before asking me if I liked it and sent me on my way in under 20 minutes. $35 for a trim? No thanks. I guess I should have said something but before I knew it, she was hustling me out the door. There are cheaper places with friendlier staff. I won't be back. read more

I was looking for a certain someone to cut my hair and that's when I stumbled across Laura she gave me the best haircut I've ever had and she will be the one I go to for hair advice every else up there seemed kinda of distant and I feel like they didn't listen to me, but not Laura she gave me exactly what I wanted was very nice and actually listened to what I had to say I would definitely recommend Laura to cut your hair. read more

I'm very picky and not very trusting when it comes to hair stylists, mostly because my hair is difficult to style. I know now that my hair is very easy to style if done by the right person. Wendy is by far the best stylist I've ever been to. I always get tons of compliments on my hair thanks to her, she's really the best. I've been going to her for about a year and a half now and I refuse to let anyone but her anywhere near my hair. Over the time I've been seeing her, I've also learned that she's a charming and beautiful lady, inside AND out. If you want real quality work, choose Wendy at Hair South, you'll be so glad you did. read more

I had to put 1 star but would put less than that if possible. My daughter had a HORRIBLE experience at this salon. Stylist Lisa took very little care and actually complained during about how my daughter had "too thick and too long hair". Really?! Her hair looked hideous after she left. HEDEOUS!!!! I would encourage no one to go to this salon. Awful! $120 later she is crying about how awful her hair looks and I agreed! The end. Let Lisa go! read more
