Not a good experience. My hairdresser (I didn't catch her name) didn't listen when I told her what I wanted and ended up washing my hair twice and then proceeded to give me half of a terrible blow-dry before I asked her to stop. The good news is that the other people I saw leaving the salon (there were several hairdressers working) had great looking hair. The salon has a great range of products - including Moroccan Oil, Phyto, Framesi, GHD and many others - and prices are comparable to Vancouver. I might go back but next time I will definitely ask for a senior stylist and ask to see their look book before letting them at my hair. read more

I had a great experience at Hair Sensations last weekend. The lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I was happy with the haircut. The complimentary coffee was a nice touch. And the coffee was good too. I've been to two other places in Whitehorse. I expect I will continue going to Hair Sensations. Why 4 stars? I'm like an English Prof for giving out A grades. A newspaper (If I got there early) and a hot towel shave might have gotten the extra star from me. read more

HORRRIBLE!!! THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!! NEVER GOING AGAIN!!! THEY SHOULD JUST SHUT THE DOORS AND I HAVE HAD MY HAIR DONE AT ALOT OF PLACES, I KNOW ABOUT HAIR AND I WAS THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED WITH THE RESULTS!! i was just visiting whitehorse when i googled this salon not knowing any different assumed it owuld be okay... well once i walked in i knew... this place was bad... i shoulda just walked out but i choose not to and man what a mistake. I went in and ALL I WANTED WAS HIGHLIGHTS just basic highlights. MY WHOLE HEAD ENDED UP ORANGE.... AND YELLOW. like i had bought a box dye from wal mart to do it (which i considered actually after getting this done to fix it lol) throughout the appointment beginning to end she did not listen to what i wanted, she didn't use the right developer so the color did not develop properly. it was absolutely horrible. When trying to explain to my hair dresser that I was not happy and that it was orange... she didn't listen she actually began to argue and she said it was jus the lighting and that the color would improve. well it didnt. i came back the next day after calling... adn tehy said that they would fix it... at this point you guys had screwed it up soo badly... that honestly i did not TRUST you to fix it. i just kinda wanted some of my money back because i had paid $200 for this... :/ Well that never happened, they refused to reimburse me and management stated tehy would only fix it so i cut my losses and THANK GOD i did because I tried to find someone anyone to fix this before i had to go home, and Joseph at PHOENIX HAIR STUDIOS IS AMAZING!!!!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. if you want a referral. he took me in last minute, stayed late to FIX my hair, and what a friggin remarkable job he did. i am super picky with my hair and was basically at the point of wearing a toque everywhere i went because i looked like vitamin C... he restored my hair back to where i could wear it confidently, and even though paid the same price. I got twice the haircut, A MILLION TIMES BETTER COLOR, and really great conversation. him and his fiance really run a great business there. SO MY ADVICE: DO NOT GO HERE. THEY WILL SCREW UP YOUR HAIR LIKE THEY DID MINE. HAIR SENSATIONS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT QUALITY OR CUSTOMER SERVICE. If I could give this a zero, I would. I am a visitor to the lovely city of Whitehorse, and wanted a simple wash and style (otherwise known as a Blow Out) and the prices looked comparable to the other salons. I gave clear and simple directions, wash and blow dry with a round brush. The stylist, a term I am using very loosely here, asked me if I wanted a flat iron, to which I replied no and explained that my hair was pretty flat naturally and I was looking for some volume. When she broke out the flat iron, I was worried, but I am not a hairdresser so I figured she knew something about her products and tools that I didn't. I was wrong. 30 mins of flat ironing later, I looked exactly the same as when I walked in. The best part? They told me the flat ironing was an extra charge! Luckily the receptionist was incredibly polite and pulled the extra charge when I explained that I had not asked for the service and actually requested that it be done another way. I just paid over $30 to have my hair washed. Not worth it. Be warned visitors! read more
