I give Hair Professionals 5 stars because I am a graduate of their Esthetics program in April 2013…read moreand currently I am a Cosmetology student there as well. Because of finanical aid I owed when I graduated from esthetics and it took me a year but I did it and recently took state boards, passed and I have become employed as a skin therapist for Ulta. I could not have gone to a better school . Everything I learned as a student from Hair Professionals I will be using at Ulta everything from the product line Dermalogica , face mapping, client consaultation and microdrem. I have had my isuues with Hair Professionals as a student and they usually get resolved. Could the esthetics program use some improvement? Yes it could but it's not horrible program. Like the real world you have to sell yourself and get clients to rebook. I did as a student and stayed busy and got the license I needed to work as a skin therapist. As an esthetics student I watched HP become a Vidal Sassoon connection school which is why when I decided to do cosmetology I went back to HP. So far I am very satisfied with the education I am getting. The school usues great product lines and the teachers are very knowledgeable. I recommend Hair Professionals if your seeking a career in the beauty industry as I said it's not perfect but I have no regrets.

I am most grateful to Taya, my hairstylist and Shayla, the instructor who took good care of me…read moreduring my visit last week. I paid close attention to their team work. I loved how professional Shayla was while instructing Taya on how to apply relaxer to my hair. I loved how attentive Taya was to the instructions and how well she carried them out. As a result of their teamwork, I did not experience any chemical burns or discomfort. Shayla, the Instructor was very knowledgeable about my haircare process and I totally appreciate that. If I had children who were interested in a career in Cosmetology, I would HIGHLY recommend Shayla as a Professional Haircare Instructor and Taya as a Hairstylist!

Brought my sister-in-law here to prepare for homecoming. My…read moresister-in-law got a OPI no chip manicure a custom one hour facial paraffin wax and eyebrow wax with Lauren Johnson I believe. I got a pedicure and one hour facial with Miranda Acosta. The facilities of this location are very nice and clean but of course it is a typical school and there is less privacy then what you expect in a salon still it's better than most schools I have gone to. Parking is really easy as there is a huge parking lot around the building. Value - Value here is pretty good with the exception of the manicure if they didn't have the know chip special it would have cost the exact same as what you find in a professional salon. Service - From my sister-in-law's experience Lauren J. was absolute fantastic and helped make her 1st spa trip a pleasant one. Unfortunately my technician was Miranda A. and I did not enjoy the services as much. Part of the issue was a light effort to get me intrested in a mlm program she does called Mellaluca and not completing the full spa pedicure but listed I rcvd it as a service. I did not receive nail filing, foot or leg mask or hot towels. Had to straighten that out at the front desk. The spa facial was okay, I don't think anything was skipped but the steps weren't explained and there wasn't any questions about skin type so I am not sure. Overall front desk was great and my SIL had a great time so I would be happy to try this again.

I would have to say my experience was absolutely horrible. I said one sentence while they were…read moredoing my hair. They then refused to finish the other half of my hair. Claimed that I was micromanaging after saying only one sentence. I haven't had my hair done in 20 years. I chose to finally do it and I absolutely regret it. They were very rude to me for no reason and left me with white/gray/yellow/black/dark purple and brown in my hair. Mind you my hair was originally brown to begin with. I was supposed to only get black and purple highlights/streaks and black underneath my hair and instead ended up with A variety of colors and looking probably 20 years older because of the gray and white. Would not recommend especially if you have a question. They will say your micromanaging and refuse to finish half way through.

WORST. Staff was so RUDE. I am not even talking students they are ok. So as of right now…read morebooking an appointment is awful. You have to talk to a zillion people to get on the schedule. There is no main book at the. Desk or computer. They are booked out for two months to do facials. And can't promise anything. They need to be available for the student but can't tell you when they can do or able to book on what days. They definitely need some system. Inside 5 people who want to help kids get through and can't book anything. I want mens and women's. Hair, nails ,mani ,pedi ,facial , waxing, and they can't even help with schedules. I have been to several schools in the past and this by far is the most un organized one. I have cold called and booked with strangers in the past. Why is this so difficult. They are definitely not where you want to send anyone as a student. I also had a service and they did not ever look or see what they were doing. The teacher also just to it upon her self to do part of the service and not educate as they did it. The staff has very angry attitudes and not friendly at all. They are mean and nasty. I felt like she was bothered by having to talk to me. I was also told no service they have other students to do their work on. So if you plan on going don't. There is a nice one in Crystal lake off of 176 check them out.

DISCLAIMER- LENGTHY REVIEW LOL:…read more I just recently graduated from the Medical Assisting program and it is bittersweet! I am super excited for my future but also super sad to be finished with school. The program was about 4.5 months and time went by so surprisingly quick but I have gained so much knowledge in that short period of time. From the beginning, I researched pretty extensively for esthetics schools around the area and came across ISBA. It seemed to be extremely detailed in what it had to offer so I scheduled an in-person interview with Dr. Doran. I brought my husband along with my two year old toddler and she was so welcoming and passionate in what she had to explain to me. I'm already a licensed cosmetologist so she took the time to ask me herself what my future endeavors are such as my goals, career, what I planned on getting out of the esthetics program. (I told her I enjoy doing hair, but skincare interests me and I might want to work in a medspa, etc later on) Instead of pushing me forward and just letting me apply/enroll in the program, she explained why it wouldn't benefit me as much considering that I was already licensed in cosmetology and if I still planned on staying in the hair industry. It would basically be like getting licensed for something I'm already qualified to do. She then explained about their MA program if medspa is what I'm leaning towards because being a certified MA would improve my current qualifications/resume whereas just being another licensed esthetician would be the same as I am now if that makes sense. The fact that she took the time to talk me out of their more expensive program and into another program to benefit me personally was enough for me to already want to enroll. It shows how much she cares for people individually and cares for everyone's success/future. Also, the fact that their class sizes are so small (my class only had 7 people) shows that she takes pride in who enrolls because she talks to them and makes sure the program is the correct fit for both the student and her. I truly appreciate and respect that. As for the MA program teacher, Ms. Helen; she is amazing. She is honest, fun & funny, caring and most importantly, patient. She teaches in the perfect pace where it isn't too slow nor too fast. If someone is having difficulty grasping a lesson/concept, she takes the time to pause and makes sure that student understands before moving forward without making it seem degrading or embarrassing. Our class asks ALOT of questions, most of the time confusing questions lol, and she makes sure she answers all of them til we understand and goes into depth with it. If she is unsure herself, she takes the time to research until there is a solid/clear answer. She provided us with her own handwritten flash cards & study games to help us prepare for our NHA exam. I had a little bit of prior education in the medical field from being in the military.. but there were a lot of topics where I was unable to retain the information after all these years. But going over those same topics with Ms. Helen, I am able to remember them and retain them easily because she teaches in a way where you're not just remembering terms/concepts, you're actually understanding why/what/etc. I am super appreciative of her and I'm so proud and glad I was apart of this program. I have a few friends/family who were apart of other MA programs that were a year long and after speaking with them, they didn't learn or go over a lot of the same material we had gone over nor had the same great learning experience. So I'm definitely pleased that I chose to go with this school because it was so worth it! Thank you ISBA!

Huge thanks to Dr. Doran for giving so much of herself to our success. Love everyone here.
