Visited them a while back. One of the best salons I have been to. Will visit again when I'm back in San Jose. Recommended.

This review is about my experience with her unprofessionalism and theft of my deposit 2026. I booked a balayage in May 2026 and paid a $100 deposit, which she cancels on me hours before my appointment time. She tells me since the cancellation is within 48hrs shes keeping the deposit (even though she canceled on me) and I can book another appointment which the deposit can be applied towards. Okay, so I book a haircut that costs $150 and pay another deposit of $50, thinking the $100 deposit I paid will apply like she said. She cancels that haircut appointment too and keeps that second deposit, telling me that deposits are non-transferable to other services. She never clarified to book the same exact appointment and it said nowhere on her cancellation policy about deposits being non-transferable. What's funny is she added that onto her cancellation policy after this incident. I attached screenshots of her cancellation policy in May, then in June after this happened. Another screenshot is my last message to her which she never responded to. My card ultimately ended up giving me credit for the deposits. Edit: Tay responded to my review so I feel compelled to reply. Tay recalls I cancelled my own appointment when I didn't. She explained I needed a longer time-slot for a color correction instead and automatically cancelled it for me while still keeping my deposit. I was actually looking forward to a balayage and when she honestly told me it would take more work and funds to get there, I intended to save my funds for a haircut instead. (I had no box-dye btw, the last time my hair was box-dyed was in 2024, and my hair was professionally done Jan 2026 before this). I'm unsure how our communication became personal. The last message I sent that was never responded to seems more like a business matter that could've been discussed in private than posted on Yelp. The cancellation policy photos I attached are straightforward. The policy changed. Point blank, I never cancelled my appointments, received my deposits back, or received service from Tay in 2026.

I am absolutely in love with what she did with my hair this session. The color is spot on and actually better than my original inspo. Stefhanie is well educated in her suggestions and helped me decide what would be best for my hair goals. The whole process was informative and thorough. love that she takes her time but also times her bleach perfectly to avoid potential damage. I washed my hair for the first time after my appointment and it feels so healthy. The products she recommended helped lock in moisture and I appreciate that. Location wise This is a new studio and I prefer this over the previous salon she was in. It feels more intimate and private. The atmosphere is homey and relaxing. Aside from the salon and her skills, Stefhanie is also very easy to talk to and the 6 hours speed by like nothing! 5/5 stars please do yourself a favor and go here!!

I came in with just a handful of TikToks showing the vibe I was going for, and she nailed it. My hair has genuinely elevated my confidence, and I get compliments all the time. Beyond the skill, Stefanie is a great hair resource. If you're like me and didn't know much about caring for treated hair or how to best style your hair, Stef is your go-to for advice. She is patient and will meet you where you are at. Also, her new private suite is such an upgrade. There's something special about having that one-on-one space. I joke that my three hours in her chair is basically therapy, because we can talk freely without the noise of a busy salon. It's comfortable, the music is on point, and the whole experience feels like a treat. Her prices are reasonable for the work she does, and she's accommodating when it comes to scheduling and listening to what you actually want. If you're on the fence about trusting someone with a big color change, Stefanie is your person.

Stress really nice...but, more importantly, she's accurate. I'm picky (very lucky) when it comes to cutting my hair. Anytime I've had someone cut my hair, and they "goofed it up", I've never given that person a second chance. The other thing is that I have 'problem' hair - some areas are straight, while others are curly, and others are wavy. Only two hair stylists that I've ever gone to "understood" my hair. The first, whom I went to for almost 12 years, retired a little over 15 years ago. Kim is the second...and, I will continue to go to her for as long as she is cutting hair, or I move to far away for her to cut my hair. There are probably thousands of hair stylists throughout the Bay Area...and, you're free to go to any of them. But, if you live in the San Jose area, and are in need of a stylist who not only gets to know you, but also gets to know your hair, then you should REALLY give Kim a try. For some, it's only about "fast & friendly" service...with Kim, it's also about "accurate" service.

But ever since I started seeing Crystal (years ago), I have never gone to see anyone else. She is amazing at what she does, is honest, always finds time to fit me into her schedule, and I always leave the salon with AMAZING hair. My favorite part during our sessions is having great conversations and she genuinely asks me how I am doing, which I appreciate. Please go see her! You will not regret it!! Joan is also a delight. She is their receptionist and will always make sure that you are comfortable and will fix you coffee or whatever you desire during your session. This place is amazing!

You pay between $550-$700 for the most low bar, unprofessional, under qualified service you will ever find, in all of the US. I worked with CRYSTAL at this branch for several appointments over 6 months. The last appointment was before thanksgiving. She decided to take two customers on the same day. Her technique was sloppy, rushed, and extremely violent with my already fragile, blonde hair. After washing, you are supposed to be very gentle with hair until product has been applied. You are supposed to part the hair gently with a comb, apply product to every strand, and gently brush through, then blow dry. She was butchering my hair. Using the brush (in picture) to YANK MY HAIR OUT OF MY SKULL while it was wet, without product, to get through the appointment as soon as humanly possible, and get overpaid, with no regard for my hairs health, or survival. It was an extremely painful, grueling experience. I was working and looking down during the appointment. I would look up when the pain from lumps of hair being pulled out of my skull would get too extreme, and ask her to please be gentle, because it hurts, and is also concerning. Instead of taking the feedback, and earning her overpriced service dollars, she lost it. She told me to be quiet, and threatened that she will abandon the service mid way. Imagine this: you're in the middle of a Brazilian blowout appointment, wet hair, half your hair has product, the other half doesn't. And you're told to shut up and stop complaining because you're in pain as your hair being butchered and you can feel it being yanked out of your skull. It's disgusting. And immature. And a sign that this person is not qualified to do this job. Afraid of her blowing up on me again, I stayed silent for the remainder of the appointment. I was screaming inside for hours as she kept pulling at my hair, yanking it out of my skull with every butcher-like strike at my head. I kept my mouth shut as her blow dryer was directed perpendicularly at my head and BURNED MY SCALP. I needed to use burn cream afterwards. I stayed silent as I saw her miss critical parts of my hair, knowing that these parts need more attention in order for the service to work. Not only that. I paid $550 of money she should not have earned, only to realize a day later, that the service didn't even work. It's as if no Brazilian blowout was even done. My hair was not straight. It was still curly at the roots in the front. Either she did not apply sufficient product to my hair or (more likely), the product she used was counterfeit. They dilute the product because the original Brazilian blowout is mostly out of stock in California. So they do this to keep getting clients, and increase the price. I've been doing Brazilian blowout regularly for the past 10 years. That's over 60 times. I know exactly how this service is done, and what your hair is supposed to look like afterwards. My hair had the exact same creases. It's as if the service never even took place. A waste of time, money, and most important, huge lumps of my hair. I also realized after medical consultations, that a huge chunk of my hair (in the back) was actually BURNED or BROKEN off because of the incorrect use of a "straightening iron." This happened within the 3-6 month period that I had been working with Crystal. I never use straightening irons or heating products at home. The only place where they are used are at the salon, while I'm doing Brazilian blowout. I came to this branch because I thought that being overpaid must also mean that you are qualified. I could not have been more wrong. Coming here has led to most of my hair being BROKEN off, thousands of dollars wasted, and deep regret. Do NOT come here. Even if it's the last place on Earth. You will be overcharged in order to lose all your hair, and get treated horribly. They truly do not deserve your business.
