Had a 5PM appointment after calling earlier that day. There were 2 male barbers and 1 female one. The female 1, named Gina, was the one who did my haircut. None of them really made Hitto Salon welcoming; I felt like I was just another customer. My hair got a nice shampoo treatment but after that, Gina did not really take the time to understand the kind of haircut I wanted even after showing her a photo - a simple cut with a thicker top and more faded sides. Throughout the entire haircut, she barely said a word; the most silent treatment I got in a salon. She shaved the sides but the cut lacked the shape and care I got from other nearby salons. My wife said that the back part of my cut looks uneven, rushed. She used mostly the razor for shaving without the crafting of the scissors to shape my hair to its ideal form. She did not even use a mirror to show me the mess she made on the back of my head. It's worth noting that this was the 2nd time I got a haircut from Gina, the first being in another salon named Scissorhands. I didn't realize this until my wife later told me about it, and I initially thought she was someone who resembled her. If I knew this from the start, I would probably would have refused to get another haircut from her given how unprofessional she performed on my first haircut with her. At the end of the haircut, she styled my hair a bit with some kind of styling cream and hairspray but no amount of styling could hide the mess of a haircut she made.

Scissorhands is my family's favorite with my two younger brothers regularly getting haircuts here. Andy is not as friendly as Miss Kim in Morrisville, but we recently had a nice conversation about the Korean language since I just started studying it. The cut was masterful, for sure, and followed the example I showed in a photo saved in my phone. Shampoo was included at no additional cost and I did not have to wait in my latest visit around Friday noon. I used to pay around $30 to $35 for a regular men's cut but the latest service, Andy charged me $40 (not including tips). As for the atmosphere, it's more spacious than their old location (where they shared space with other salons) but it's not as spacious as Hair News. Nonetheless, it's in a good location by High House Road, close to Cici's Pizza, a small Walmart market, and just less than 5 minutes drive away from HMart.

Jin was extremely nice, and the cut was what I wanted, but the positives stop there. I asked for a natural highlight (see second photo) and I got YELLOW. After the color was already on my head, Jin told me to "expect brassy color because blonde is always brassy." In the 10 years I have been coloring my blonde hair, I have NEVER left a salon brassy. I waited a week, using purple shampoo (that I had to purchase from the salon) and went to another salon to get it fixed. The first photo is from the salon that fixed my hair, a week after it was highlighted at Hair Story. I called Jin to explain how upset I was with this result, and to request a refund (to avoid having to leave a negative review). She became extremely angry with me on the phone, and insisted she had done nothing wrong and does not offer refunds. So I wanted to leave this warning to others in the hopes no one will make the same mistake as me- you will waste your money and time.

I was scheduled with Michaela for a Halo face framing type situation and was greeted very kindly by her and everyone else at the front desk.
