The Black Rice rolls and Rainbow are quite excellent. The fried salmon was just ok. The Shirashi was not as I expected so if you are traditionalist stay away from it. Overall a good sushi restaurant.

The price is quite reasonable, especially if you are a big eater. The quality of the food varies. I did not have any problems here regarding food, but the execution and presentation are certainly lacking. They take shortcuts, but I guess that is typical with all-you-can-eat places. This is most obvious with the sushi execution. Or a mixed tempura having one prawn and half a dozen pieces of the same vegetable. Oh, and the sashimi looked ridiculous (no complaints with fish quality). I found the service friendly yet hurried. I was even accidentally served a big plate of sushi I did not order. There was simply no opportunity to send it back. Well, I must admit it was rather delicious, can't complain. Location: 5 Cleanliness: 4 Service: 3 (super nice though!) Food quality (ingredients): 4 Execution (big deal for sushi): 2 Presentation: 3 Bang for the buck: 4 Lots of 4's there, but can't go to 4 for overall score.

Look, I didn't come all the way to Rome expecting to have one of the best sushi meals I've had in…read moreyears--but Sushisen absolutely delivered. We grabbed seats at the rotating bar (kaiten style), and let me just say that if you're someone who loves watching food go by like it's an edible runway show, this is your jam. Plate after plate of beautifully crafted nigiri, maki, and fresh bites just glide past you, and you can take whatever catches your eye. It's a low-pressure, high-satisfaction way to eat. Nothing felt mass-produced--everything tasted carefully made, with that clean, precise flavor you hope for in sushi. Our favorites were the salmon belly nigiri, which was buttery and rich without being overwhelming. The shrimp tempura roll had the perfect crunch-to-soft-rice ratio. And the spicy tuna had just enough kick to keep it interesting without trying too hard. Even the wasabi felt dialed in--not a sinus assault, just a smart accent. And whoever's in charge of plating back there clearly respects the artform. These plates aren't just tasty--they're a little bit elegant. The interior manages to feel sleek and modern while still being cozy. And since we were seated at the counter we got to watch the chefs at work which was a true highlight. Quiet craftsmanship, no fuss, just focus and intention. Staff were kind and helpful, and while I didn't sample the sake or wine (for religious reasons), the servers never made it weird. Just warm, professional hospitality all around. Pro tip: Sit at the bar, go with an open mind, and trust your eyes. If it looks good, it is good. And maybe skip breakfast--you'll want room for more plates than you think.
