Smiling staff will help you carry out big loads. Check cashing window. Security. My go to store. Note: Some of the rejected reviews reference "bad side of town". It is located off of one of the Major roads next to a very busy gas station and very many major franchise food. Because of the prices they have a lot of African-American customers and that is the source for the dog-whistle about "bad side of town". Same for the guy complaining about no guns. There are guns there, you just don't see the security team. I have gone there for years and always felt safe. I'm an old white guy with no patience for this kinda trashy talk.

If I need anything I will buy from the grocery store so I don't have to make a second stop. Five Points used to be a great area. Someone that cares about Valdosta needs to buy the area and resurface the parking lot. Maybe get some decent stores to move in and it would be another place to shop instead of (lol) the mall. The liquor store tried to look upscale but the area is NOT! Don't waste your time.

The selection here for mid range and high end bourbons is unbelievable. Prices are slightly higher than average, but within reason. This might be uncommon knowledge, but in the liquor store industry, many store owners will negotiate a cash price on just about anything. If I'm going to spend over $100-150, I try to find a way to save a few bucks. I was surprised when I found a bottle of whiskey that's hard to find outside of Texas. I offered to buy every bottle he had on the shelf at the time (6 bottles) and that I would pay cash...but I wanted to negotiate the price down about 20%. I knew it would cut into his profit margin, but I also knew he wasn't going to lose money, because I know the distiller and how much those bottles are sold to the retailer for. Even after flashing the cash...there was no budge...so I bought just one bottle and left. The store owner responded that he only negotiates on certain bottles. I respect that. It's his business and his prerogative. Had we struck a deal I would definitely have come back with more cash to do more business. If you're in Valdosta and want to find some good bourbon then this is your place.
