took a tin set off of a street glide to him november 4th of 2023. I just got them back march 29th 2025. prep work was horrible. have sanding marks, dings and other imperfections he just painted over. paint fish eyed in spots barley painted the back of the bags,paint lines between colors are jagged and not straight. overall I have to have them repainted by someone else that will do it correctly you would think after a year and a half he would have done a better job. when asked to negotiate the price because his paint job was horrible his answer was he was calling the police. also used the excuse he was In the hospital for a infection in his heart. was told time after time it would be next week and he would have them done. there's also dirt and trash in the paint. Sent Ben my chopper tins only to wait 3X as long as quoted and to get a new paint job sprayed over pre existing chips and imperfections of the old one. No prep or bodywork performed prior to spraying. Small parts were not packaged correctly and bounced around the box creating damage during shipping. Some of the smaller bracket parts weren't painted at all. Never received my front fender back as he claims Fed Ex lost it and can't get them to cover the new one. Ben states he doesn't have enough money to cover new fender. Caution to whoever is sending him parts to paint from outside of his reachable area by car. Justed likethe other ocmplaints this non painting a- hole said he would do an old school Flame jop on my Fatboy, Well that was bullshit he took 3 months and send me aset of tanks that look like a kid did them, Body work not done, paint barley covered ,scratches on both tanks, pin stripe looked like he was DRUNK all different rough edges could see where he syarted and stopped was small then fat crooked , over spray all over. I saw pic of his work before i used him But mine sure isn't Nice like vyou see on his ads, I was lucky to get my tanks back at all and I would be ashamed to put these on . Had a Harley rear fender repaired last year. He did an excellent job and could not tell where the damage was

Do not, I repeat, do not bring anything to this guy for paint! He is a crook. He will tell you lies, after lies. He doesn't prep that part to be painted well enough and then sprays the parts with dirt etc. in the air so there are flaws. The paint is also uneven. When you pick them up, they are in an area that is not well lit so that you cannot see all flaws on them until you get home and put them in the sunlight. Then he tries to tell you it is from something you have done. One of the worst paint jobs I have seen. I have read a ton of reviews on this place that are not good I should never have trusted and went with my gut instinct. read more

STAY AWAY! Messaged him on Ebay, he told me he would give me a better deal outside of ebay because they take part of the profit. What I did not think about was ebay will hold him accountable for his service. So if he goes outside of them he can't get in trouble. Sent him my parts in March, he ended up in the hospital. Told me 3-4 weeks tops when he got them, told me he prepped them before he went into the hospital. He got out, I asked for him to just send me my parts back. Took him 3 weeks to send them back. I paid shipping both ways, thank god I only paid half up front because he claimed he prepped and bought all the paint and supplies. Yet when my parts finally got shipped back to me, they were not even touched. I personally packaged them and they came back EXACTLY how I placed them in the boxes. He never refunded me the half I paid up front, said he had no money and I needed to grow up and give some more grace because he needed that for hospital bills then said he needed it for supplies. I hate to write a review like this, but this is just unbelievable. It is not a business. He is working job to job, lying about time lines. I am sorry he was in the hospital, but as a business someone else should be there to handle sending things back if this is a common occurrence which is seems to be in the reviews below. So now I am out $850 and had to have someone else paint my parts. I wish we could give negative stars to this guy. He messages me multiple times for my parts back in October. He comes down to get my parts n the money. For his corvette parts. Then 7 months later I send someone to look at them bc he was in the hospital and didn't know when he could finish it. Cuts in the paint, over spray, nothing is even on the paint Scheme. The saddle bags and the side cover design doesn't line up. Stay away from him. Total crook. Sent him a damaged gas tank to be repaired and repainted a single color. I knew his 4 week timeline wasn't realistic so I didn't press the issue. After several months I just got a bunch of excuses and deflection. 10 months later I got the tank back and the work was horrible. The filler was wavy, there were wet sand marks that weren't completely buffed out. I refused to send it back to him so I had a local guy fix it. It came out great until I put gas in it. The section he welded back obviously didn't hold and the gas bubbled the repair job. Once again he deflected and blamed it on everyone else. Numerous times he claimed he would send me back money but never did. Claimed he was struggling and even claimed he had a heart attack. Stay away from this guy. Ask me how I know read more

This is by far the biggest letdown I've ever had initially was supposed to take two weeks it took four months the pinstriping is so far off it looks like a five-year-old kid could've did it there's blotches in the paint I have to have the car been completely redone gave him the choice to help me fix his mistakes because this is an embarrassment paint job to put on my bike he told me we are done this guy is a joke stay away. This guy is an absolute crook. Do your research before you give him your hard earned cash. I paid him good money to paint my tanks and fenders. He did a very bad job. I received it back with scrapes and scratches, front fender was not properly taped off so there are parts of the fender with no paint on it. He also scratched the chrome up on the fender bracket. Everything that I sent him was brand new in undamaged condition. I cannot even believe that he could send it back to me in this condition. The whole thing is a bust. Bottom line... He's a little backed up but any good business is. Ever go to a bad restaurant and have to wait or a great one and walk right in. That's my point. Was quoted a reasonable price and 4 week timeline. 5 months later after much pleading I received my parts back and was severely disappointed, between all the trash in the paint, the overspray under the clear coat the areas that were sanded and not buffed and the pinstriping that is all different thickness can see where he started and stopped and sanded thru the pinstripe and just cleared over it. Hagen Kustoms did my paint job. I am very pleased with how it turned out. Pictures do not do it justice. Timeline of the job was maybe a week longer than expected but it was cold and wasn't time to ride so wasn't a big deal to me. Only complaint I had was my latches didn't arrive with rest of parts. Had to wait for those. Over all we kept good contact with each other through the process. Had bike out today for the first time and had tons of compliments. Very happy with my results. I have had several excellent experiences with Ben at Hagen Kustoms. The real blue ghost fire airbrushed rolling off of the ram air scoops on the hood of my car turned out absolutely stunning. Subtle, yet noticeable. The House of Kolor clear held up incredibly well. He also did a great job aligning the hood and making sure all gaps were spot on once the hood was reinstalled. He pays attention to detail and his air brushing skills are second to none. You won't be disappointed! Ive also had him paint several sets of tins on my bikes and he out does himself, every time. Ben, This is David Smith, you painted the tins for my 2000 FDXS Harley Davidson. Below you will find the report from the specialist Doc Holliday Harley Davidson in Glenwood Springs, CO, called in to inspect the paint job you did for the tins. Based on (Will's) 40 years of painting for Harley Davidson and other bike companies, he said there was no way this work could be corrected unless the tins were back to just bare metal. Will said the execution of the painting was not done to the standards of Harley Davidson let alone something an individual would except. Ben, I am requesting to get my money back I sent to you in the amount of $850.00. Harley Davidson will be correcting this work at a much higher cost but said it will be done correctly. I will give you 7 business days to have a check sent to me or I will post the letter below along with the pics of the paint job on line and explain on line what happened. Thank you, David Smith David, In a nut shell the painter that we had come inspect the bike noticed the following mistakes with the paint job 1) The free movement and arching on the pinstripe does not exist 2) Pinstripe should have been hand done and not taped off. To many tape marks 3) Live fire was done way to wet, and it has bled or ran causing non realistic flames 4) Random marks of paint on the bike where it looks as tough a paint brush accidentally touched the bike. 5) Blue pinstripe doesn't match the the edge of the flames 6) ??? why is there yellow on the front part of the rear fender makes no sense and draws your eye away from the paint job and directs it to the rear fender. 7) When the paint job is complete you should never be able to feel the pinstripe. 8) The above issue is likely due to not having multiple clear coats. Multiple clear coat procedure was not done at all. 9) None of the paint from the bike was removed, Ben just painted over it. I gave Ben more than enough time to pay me back and he did not. I also in good faith after talking to him, gave all the money upfront and he could not be a decent business owner and give back the money knowing he did not do a good job. Had great experience with Ben. He has done many custom painted sets for me. One of them is close to 14 years old. The clear and House Of Color paint has never lost it's shine. The crazy part is I've never waxed it yet, only use compound and hand glaze on it.. After 10 years of use I acquired a dent in rear fender where backrest goes. Ben matched the custom flames to a T. Ben might have waiting period due to the demand he has created because of the quality of work he does. Can't say enough positive points very talented painter for a reasonable price. Unfortunately I need to get this out there- After months of documented excuses, fake apologies. broken promises and false tracking numbers I received my parts back. Not all at once, but weeks apart. Wrapped in wet plastic with bubble wrap stuck to un-cured paint. Dents that were paid extra to be removed that had never been touched, just painted over. Fish-eyes and orange peel everywhere. Scratches in old paint showing through. What was supposed to be pin-striping was done by tape, uneven, mis-matched and crooked. Fingerprints and smudges from handling wet. Was supposed to be 2-4 weeks and was almost 4 months of nothing but grief. I think he may extend the time so you cant file ebay claims, and pay-pal doesn't cover custom orders. After seeing the pictures, my credit card co is trying to recover my money, but apparently he has none. I dont know where he gets pictures of paint that he posts, but it must be someone else's work, it sure wasn't my job. What a mess. I have a claim going, parts I can't use, about $1200 in the toilet and no end in sight. Do yourself a favor, stay away. This guy talks a good game but..... he's all hat and no cattle. UPDATE; Capital One refunded their part of the money I paid upon them seeing pictures of his work, but I'm out all the cash I sent and money paid before the six month expiration period, so that tells you how long it takes. read more
