We booked this hotel through Travelzoo late on Friday afternoon. Arrived before check in on Saturday but they sat me down with a pot of tea until our room was ready. We were upgraded to a luxury suite (which was beautifully decorated). We then went down to afternoon tea in the lounge and had brownies, scones with jam and cream and sandwiches with a pot of coffee. The best part however was the amazing 3 course dinner we had. There was a wedding and a 30th birthday party on that night but still our food was brought swiftly and was hot. The meal was outstanding and the chef's desserts were to die for, especially the Apple Terrine. The cooked Shrophsire breakfast the next morning was beautifully presented with really tasty pork and leek sausages. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Telford area. The staff were exceptionally (I mean above and beyond) friendly and helpful. I can't fault anything. And we got it as a special deal which meant we saved over £100 on the normal price. read more
