When we walked in, we were greeted instantly and told we could choose anywhere to sit. Our waitress was almost over immediately to hand us menus and took our drink orders. The restaurant had a nice friendly ambiance to it. Seeming like this time a year, it was mainly for locals. There were one or two other people who walked in, who the staffed seemed to know. We ordered some of their garlic cheese bread as an appetizer. I order their southwest shrimp salad, and my wife ordered the cheese Italian bread pizza. We unfortunately were told that we needed to check in early to the place we were staying, so we asked if we could actually have our food to go, and the staff were so accommodating. We did have some of their garlic bread before we left, and it was crispy and fresh with nice gooey cheese. The marinara sauce was very flavorful too. The southwest shrimp salad I had was also delicious. The shrimp were cooked just right with a good amount of seasoning to them. The vegetables and tortilla strips were fresh and crunchy. The cilantro lime dressing also had a nice brightness to it, but also that creamy texture. We will definitely be back in the future when we come back to this area.

The hostess was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming.. I thought man a good start.. then it went drastically down hill. It took us over an hour and half to get and finish our meal. Waiter came over and seemed out of place. Took our orders for drinks and appetizers then disappeared. Our drinks came out slowly considering it was two waters and a lemonade. We ordered the garlic cheese curds. No plates to eat them on, no extra napkins.. They were good, nothing like omg I have to get again. We asked now for a Pepsi and Arnold Palmer with our dinner order.. drinks even slower than the last time came out.. no water refills to be seen. Then our food at this point should be done.. oh no waiter comes out..they are out of chicken fingers. Our child has to order something else.. choices were grilled cheese or pasta. We came here specifically because of the kids menu and tenders. That should have been told to us before even getting into the dining area. So I ask can you make a small kid burger? Nope! They are all premade burgers. They offer no alternative to a kids meal that has protein on it unless you want grilled cheese. What the actual hell. My kid has an issue with milk. They won't discount the adult meal that our kid won't fully finish. So a reasonable night went out the door. Was the waiter willing to ask a boss.. again nope.. no boss to be seen. Husband ordered the fish and was told to pick any side. He ordered poutine. I ordered the grilled chicken with poutine. My son was forced to get the fried chicken and we had to cut it up for him. No water refill or refill asked once our food hit the table. Didn't see our waiter again til he wanted to settle the bill. My chicken was ok. The chicken really should have been pounded thinner.. one side was very thick and the other was barely there. I wasn't impressed with the poutine, beyond swimming in gravy, too much. My sons chicken was huge so he only ended up eating 1/3 of it given he's a kid. Such a waste of money. My husbands fish was ok, it came out with chips on his plate and then the waiter brought poutine. he said the texture of the breading wasn't good. At home we have some of the best fish fry's and this one wasn't one of them. Here's the kicker.. get the bill.. it has full shot for all meals.. no man we messed up with your kids meal.. and they charged my husband extra for poutine. 4.50 for something that came with his meal. My meal was normal price. At this point we had been there for an hour and half with a child I wanted out so we just paid and left. If your looking to flush money down the toilet and spend an hour and half to two hours of your life on a meal.. this is the place.

Prices were very reasonable and the menu selection was varied, but the focus was traditionally American fare, steaks, burgers, chicken and the like. If beer is something you like, they have a huge beer menu. The wine list was also very long. All three of us got burgers and asked for the medium. Two were perfect, but mine was more of a medium, rare side, however, I eat it is cooked, and it was delicious. My wife had ordered a pickle for hers, but none came with the meal, and she didn't feel like asking for one after the fact. Overall, the food is very good, and the prices were less than what one would expect to pay at a restaurant in a resort town. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the weight staff. They were very friendly and seated as quickly, but allowed us time to relax and enjoy a nice summer evening on the deck. The amount of time for the meal was on the longer side, but we were totally OK with that, and if we had wanted to leave sooner, I'm sure we could've let the waitress know, and I request would've been accommodated.

Finding the entrance was like a game of hide-and-seek gone wrong. There's no signage, zero lighting, and walking back at night from the main street feels more like the opening scene of a horror movie than a relaxing vacation. It's eerie, deserted, and downright creepy. The restaurant? Only serves dinner--no breakfast, no lunch. Good luck figuring out when it opens, though. When I asked the teenage staff at Pointe Grill, they stared at me blankly before going back to fishing and smoking off the dock directly in front of the entrance. It was like interrupting their hangout spot, not asking a simple question as a paying guest. The property itself is in serious decline. Dirty, dank, and reeking of cigarettes and mildew. The smell hits you immediately, as do the scattered cigarette butts littering the grounds. It's clear that upkeep is not a priority. To their credit, the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming--but that level of service unfortunately doesn't extend to the rest of the establishment. The rooms with a view of Boldt Castle might sound romantic, but step inside and it's like walking into a forgotten relic of the 1970s. The decor is outdated to the point of being uncomfortable: mirrored walls, an aging jacuzzi, and cheap, bubbling vinyl flooring that looks like it was installed by someone's cousin over a weekend. The door to our room didn't even seal properly--it looked like it had been kicked in at least once, maybe more. The balcony was filthy, crawling with bugs, covered in vines, and in desperate need of a power wash. The railing was rickety and rusted--definitely not somewhere you'd want to linger with a drink in hand. As for amenities, the hot water took a full ten minutes to arrive, which felt symbolic of the overall experience: slow, neglected, and not worth the wait. For the price per night, this place is a complete letdown. It feels more like a rundown roadside motel than the getaway it pretends to be. Skip it. There are far better options in the area that actually care about their guests--and their property.
