I wish I could say I enjoyed my recent experiences with this particular restore because I have been supporting it for more than 25 years. Unfortunately today when my donations were again rejected (the second time in about two months) I was told I was rude because I expressed my opinion that the Tyler location has become too picky. I've seen this store grow in many ways throughout the years. I have purchased items here, donated items and even volunteered. I'm a person who supports recycling, reusing, and repurposing. This Restore used to meet all those needs. It doesn't anymore because somewhere along the way someone here decided the Tyler store should be more upscale. I understand the reasoning for not accepting unusable items (trash) but to reject good used materials simply because they are not boxed or "trending"? Construction costs have gone through the roof! There are many people in our society who cannot afford to improve their homes. That's where I thought Habitat served a great purpose. Not in Tyler anymore. read more
