It's an interesting building to look at, definitely, but it clashes with the historic architecture of St. Stephen's church. Sometimes modern and historic can meld, but in this case? Nope. It should have been built somewhere else.

This post-modern creation of Hans Hollein - what was he thinking? - faces Stephensdom. Remains of Roman Vindobona were supposed to have been found here. I wonder if the latter could have been commemorated with mores appealing style. I remember walking by it, whispering, whatever?!?! before moving on. read more
mr. hans hollein really managed to inflict his post-modernist wound on a significant historic urban space... I am all for integrating old and new, but not when the new is inherently dated from inception and devoid of proportion, respect and deference.
at least his version of postmodernism didn't literally use classicism as language and he avoided symmetry ... read more
