The good is this: friendly, charming staff, offered drinks and comfortable places to sit, were very understanding about most of our group not speaking Spanish, which was nice of them. My sister and her friend both got very nice haircuts. HOWEVER.
I have quite short hair, and it was painfully obvious after the hairdresser finished that he had never done a short cut before. It was choppy and uneven, with strange little long pieces over my ears and bangs that were far too short. I had brought a picture to show him what I wanted, but what I walked away with was less Michelle Pfieffer in Ladyhawke and more "college roommate gets drunk and offers to trim your hair with nail scissors."
I had to go to another salon about 10 days later to get this botched haircut fixed (my hair grows pretty fast) and the second salon's owner was simply APPALLED for me. He showed me various places where the hair wasn't even cut to the same length on both sides (it was not an asymmetric cut) and his fix job had to be even shorter than I wanted, of course, to fix the various problems.
I would have liked to be told he wasn't comfortable with short hair, but barring that, he should at the very least have not given me a cut that was this uneven. That seems like Hair Cutting 101 to me.
I gave two stars instead of one because as I said, the service was very nice, and my sister and her friend's haircuts turned out nicely. But short-haired lasses should save their 50 Euro for a place that can handle cropped cuts. read more
