My reason for the one star review is how the practice is run financially. Twice I had my rates increased by 20 and 25 percent several months after I agreed to a year long contract (they called it a "small increase" but it's around $300). They have continued to decrease benefits over the years (decreasing discount from 25% to 20% for supplements ordered through FullScript). And then I found they were marking up my GLP1 medication by 100 percent (more than $300!) from the compounding pharmacy they used. I only found out about this because of an error in the pharmacy contacting me about billing. For this reason, I have left the practice.

I had a hysterectomy when I was 33, This in turn forced me into an early menopause. I have been to…read moremy doctor as well as my gyneocologist as I didn't feel like me. I had my doctor check my hormone levels many times, and was told that they were all normal. I was tired, depressed, and angry all the time. For 19 years, the only thing they said to me was that what I was going thru was normal. With the recommendation from Michael Shoulders, a Patient Counselor, explained to me what NuFemme could do for me to get me out of funk that I have been in for 19 years. He listened intently to my concerns, and assured me of the care I would receive. On my first appointment I was impressed that I seemed to have a crew to see to my every need. They drew my blood to check my hormone levels, which by the way, were really all over the place. Too much of one, not enough of another, one or two that were almost not existent. They came up with a customized plan made just for me. Its been almost 2 months since that appointment, and Im starting to feel like I did in my late 20's, I laugh, smile and have a much better attitude then I did before. I don't feel depressed, and Im not angry. You don't feel like your going crazy anymore. If you don't feel like you, and you know something is wrong don't wait years or even months to do something about it. Go and Talk to Michael Shoulders, he will listen and so will everyone at the NuFemme Clinic, and make the effort to help you make the journey back to a better you with a a plan that is only for you.

I had two infusions that week then one each week for the next four weeks, then three weeks out and the next one is 5 weeks out. Since then, I've been practicing yoga 4-5 days per week, go grocery shopping, spend time with friends, quit whining and it seems that my fibromyalgia pain has calmed way down. My brain isn't as scattered as it used to be and I've become alert, more calm, with less anxiety. It feels like someone breathed life into me and I feel like a whole person. I'm thankful I found Dr. Kane and Ketamine Milwaukee. He has a great staff and I really look forward to my treatments not only because they help me, but I get to escape from myself for a while. It's a nice ride. One last thing. I'm on a fixed income. The treatments are a bit pricey, but I always make it work. Credit cards are good. I really couldn't care less how much they cost because you can't put a price tag on feeling well and having a life.

From the beginning, she was compassionate, knowledgeable, and always willing to think outside the box to find treatments and exercises that would help me feel better and continue making progress. She took the time to listen, adjust my treatment based on how I was doing, and encouraged me every step of the way. Thanks to her care, I regained so much mobility and function in my shoulder and felt confident throughout the recovery process. I love the 1-on-1 time and not having to "share" as I had experienced in other places. The only chin scratcher for me didn't actually come from my PT Catrina, but from the owner who popped in (even though the door was closed--sometimes I need to lift my shirt to access certain spots on my back) with a student who was shadowing. I got no heads up, and I wasn't asked if it was ok that she observer my session. I would have happily said yes, but I was more concerned that I wasn't even asked. Unfortunately, my insurance changed, and I was no longer able to continue therapy with her, which genuinely made me sad because I felt I was in such good hands. I highly recommend Catrina to anyone looking for a physical therapist who truly cares about her patients and is committed to helping them succeed.

I would like to provide more context for those searching for a pelvic floor PT that might relate to…read moremy post. I was a patient here for around 18 months and saw 2 different providers, both of which failed to demonstrate trauma informed practice. After thousands of dollars spent, I would like you to learn from my experience. Dr. Caroline recommended a book for further information. I was told each chapter started with a story, and before purchasing, I wanted to know if there was a trigger warning as I could not handle any content related to sexual violence or a traumatizing pap smear. Even after repeatedly discussing what trigger warnings are and why they are so valuable, Dr. Caroline did not investigate the book for such warnings. I mentioned this to Dr. Lauryn later, but she had stated that she would not advise on or investigate reference material trigger warnings for future patients. Her reasons are unknown to me but researching those would be invaluable to patients like me and contribute to trauma-informed practice. Before one session my partner and I were rear-ended on our way to the clinic. Dr. Caroline did not account for this going into or check in with me during the appointment, resulting in me experiencing a pain level that was much greater than what we had agreed to. My partner was there with me and on our way home stated: "Dr. Caroline was different today, should I have said something? She was really pressuring you." It is important to recognize the ways trauma history and current mental state can impair communication. This, along with the power imbalance within the appointment, can easily lead to harm if providers are not trauma informed. Dr. Caroline and I set up a communication plan afterwards, but she was inconsistent in following through on it. Furthermore, Dr. Caroline, encouraged disassociation between my mind and body to complete hands-on homework assignments. This setback my progress and I spent several sessions with Dr. Lauryn trying to overcome this ill-informed treatment plan. After I switched to Dr. Lauryn, a clear indicator that this too was not a good fit was when she did not respect my "no" during a conversation. That stuck with me because if she can't respect my "no" during a conversation, how can I expect her to respect my "no" during a hands-on situation. My goal for my final conversation with Dr. Lauryn was to get reassurance that no one else will have the same negative experiences I have had. I did not get this reassurance and, unfortunately, that is why I am posting this. Dr. Caroline and Dr, Lauryn, I mean no ill-intent. You just have a lot more trauma informed education needed to call yourselves trauma informed. One resource I highly recommend is the School of Consent.

They are completely unlike my last doctor who threw pills at me and charged me way over cost for drug tests at every visit. I am more than an insurance claim or dollar signs, they seem to give a damn. They listen and have used so many tools to get me more comfortable. I have been sent to a wonderful physical therapist who gave me exercises to stretch and strengthen. On occasion I have had epidural injections in their office, or at another location. When I get a flair up they do trigger point injections to help me get off my couch and into work. When my insurance decides to be jerks and denies medication or requires prior authorization for something I've already been taking, they hop on the phone and take care of it. In two word they have been - LIFE CHANGING!
