I'm a big, big fan of H&M. Mostly, I love their fashion philosophy - you don't need to break the bank for fashionable items. Over the years, I've found that wearing designers might be worth it for those that have a ton of $ to spend, hehe (this wouldn't be me), but personally, I feel like buying designer items usually means I'll be wearing the designer item ALL the time, so I can justify its sky-high cost - & really, I don't want to be rememered as that person that wears that 1 designer item all the time. I'd rather wear something new & fashionable every now & then.
H&M is the perfect store for fashionable items at an affordable price. At this H&M store on Avinguda Diagonal (& other H&M stores in BCN, really, including the one on La Rambla), they have something for everyone on different floors - kids, women of all ages, & men. There are umbrellas, cosmetics, clothing (formal, casual, other), shoes, sunglasses, perfume, etc., & they're generally within the 'affordable' range. Expect to find tops at around €10, more or less. When I was there, there were a few Sale racks with a bright sign & an arrow pointing downwards, saying something like "€7".
On my last day in BCN, I only had to go to this 1 H&M store to buy stuff to take home to my aunt & nephew. My 1 yr-old nephew's lovely blue button-down long sleeved shirt only cost me €5 (inspected it for stains/damage, there weren't any - maybe that was the last size). One of his bright green shirts (which he wears all the time now) only cost me €3, & another only cost €7,95. Don't tell my sister. I just think it doesn't make much sense to splurge on babies' clothes, because they quickly outgrow them, hehe. My aunt's blouses were slightly more expensive at €19.99 each, but I thought the material, cut & design justified the cost.
Love you H&M :) read more
