I know it's the first few days of being open, but staff has a lot to learn to check off a great experience. I ordered the combo #2 and I did not receive my jalapenos and onions. The corn tortillas were cut down the middle like they used a knife to open the package. Rice was bland and had no flavor. Lines were long to order and you pretty much order everything on your own. Make sure to read the menu carefully because everything you want is on there I was told. For example if you do not tell them to cut or quarter the whole bird, it will be whole. Last error, was not being told about choosing a free dessert with a purchase of $15. While waiting for my order I overheard them offering a free dessert to a customer because they had a promo offer. Don't think I will be back. There are better places to go to get treated like this. read more

This is horrible! Me and my daughter came here hungry looking for some good chicken, they barley had any at the hot-grab-and-go. The ones they did have where only thighs and they looked pretty old, next to the grab and go was a Flamin chicken. This restaurant looked promising with having good chicken displayed. When I went to go pay I asked for a full chicken. We got the chicken, and payed an outrageous 10 dollars. We walked out and as soon and as I felt the bag it felt small. We where missing parts, it was disgusting and dry, dry like leather, it had burnt parts but not the good type of burn like bacon. The type of burnt that makes you visibly gag. Definitely not worth the price, service, or drive. They did have other chicken that looked good but for some reason we got the bad chicken. Maybe the good chicken was only for display. This place usually rocks.....BUTT....my concern is with the Flaming Chicken Dept!! Can anyone tell me why when you order a Flaming Bird, you receive 5 tortillas, onions n a jalapeño according to HEB signage at location above you BUTT when you order a pound of fajitas you get Na Ting!! EVEN though the signage above you claims the same as a Flaming Bird?? Sign at you receive 5 tortillas, onions n a jalapeño, BUTT I've been there on 3 separate occasions and ALL 3 employees said I don't get anything. 1 employee gave me tortillas and the other 2 gave me a side of free attitude, no extra charge. I even pointed out the verbiage according to HEB sign, it fell upon deaf ears. Don't wanna be a Chad, BUTT I'm just going off HEB signage. What would you be thinking!? Make it make sense!! read more

i just left heb #136 very upset. last week i picked a prescription that was over $964. i paid for it with a check. i then bought groceries and wrote another check which was declined because of the other check i had written. i paid for it with a credit card and left. i went back today to buy groceries and i gave them a check which was declined. my checks are good you have never gotten a bad check from me in over fifty years, it is very embarassing when this happens, i normally buy all of my gas, groceries, and over 20,000.00 a year in precsriptions and i don't appreicate being treated this way, this time i told them to keep the groceries and left. i had to goes somewhere else and do my shopping all over again. i am seriously thinking about changing all of my prescriptions and moving on where i am better appreicated. june long harlingen tx read more

I love H-E-B, it's my favorite grocery store. I can't go anywhere else for their specialty cheeses. Or even their fresh cuts of meat. The store is very well labeled and I can normally get around pretty fast. If I have trouble locating something an associate is always happy to help me. Also when I'm checking out at the self checkout or the checkout line, it is very fast. And I love buying all my produce from H-E-B it never get old as fast as other grocery stores. read more

I am so tired of going to the H.E.B on lincoln and expressway 83 they dont let you shop just following you like you are going to steal.Its so annoying and so obvious it really makes me angry how dumb they look and make you feel so uncomfortable. HEB is honestly the best grocery store here in harlingen. It's so clean and you can tell the management cares about their store. They even have security in the parking lot. read more

I don't know about those two early reviews. Maybe the place has been remodeled? Good produce (usually) at decent prices. A bulk foods aisle. A good variety throughout. I feel lucky to have it in such a small town. I do wish they'd get off their butts and stock some soy or coconut milk ice cream, though. read more

I didn't even know a grocery store could be this awful. I would never return here. For starters, the place is a huge mess. There is literally trash on the floor. The bathroom was literally soaked with urine. Which is disgusting, because that is where the employees are going to be before they touch any food that you would be buying there. I had a problem and asked an associate for help. He said he would find his manager for assistance. Instead he got his friend who I think might have just pretended to be a manager. Then a third "manager" was found, to continue to not be helpful. After all of that, the first associate had the gall to tell me that he was supposed to charge me for helping me, and would if I asked him for help in the future. Great service! The staff is always helpful and kind. They have a great selection of good quality food and organic. One of the best HEB's!!

For Harlingen, this is the nicer grocery store. For a small city, they try to give you a decent variety. More variety of grocery items than Wal-mart. read more
