This is a very nice HEB in Elsa. It is smaller than some of the locations in Edinburg or McAllen, so the selection is also more limited on some items, but you will find pretty much anything you need, as well as great service and friendly staff. I found everything I needed for a special family birthday meal I was to cook. They have the usual Deli, bakery, meat market, produce, dairy, and usual grocery items as well as some kitchen and home items. Skip the McAllen traffic and shop at this HEB! This is Elsa's new HEB as of maybe 2014. I can't recall exactly. It is a basic small town HEB with a nice bakery and a small deli. There are plenty of fresh breads and cakes to chose from. They slso have hot foods ready, like barbacoa on weekends and fresh tortillas daily. It has a huge parking lot so you can drive around for hours to get that perfect spot! The produce department is not huge, but adequate. The meat department is pretty nice. I have yet to use any butcher services, but I'm sure they can accommodate. My only real issue with this place is the lines at checkout. There always seems to be long lines. They do try to organize the way they move with a manager usually directing people and sometimes even opening up extra registers. The lines back up mostly in the evenings when they have only 2 or 3 registers open. Overall, a clean and decently stocked small town HEB. read more

I liked this H-E-B, but some of the managers can be rude. My friend and I were told we couldn't pay in the express lane, even though we were splitting items for both of our households, just because we had one kart. The manager, a short female, said it doesn't work like that, that it's 15 items per kart. I was shocked because I knew she was lying. But what could I do? I had to move to another isle. read more

It's a lovely place to collect food and materials you need I love it super Ego friendly in it's own way.

Since its the only general market in town, what can you say? The produce is decent and the aisles are clean.
