I will never return to h&r block EVER!!! They advertise a free tax prep with a refund available up to $3000 advance at no charge. This is the worst case of bait and switch I've ever seen. Not only do you not receive the advance in full you receive the partial advance on what they call the EMERALD CARD which is the biggest rip off in the world. The card is connected to no bank so every withdrawal comes with a $3.50 charge from Block but also a charge from any ATM. You choose to use. Even purchases include a charge. This is a total rip off. I called the Wilmington office to check on these services before I went there and was lied to. Theynassured me I would leave with mynrefund check the same day. So needless to say i was more than a little upset when my tax prepare handed me the ridiculous Emerald card rip off. Save your money and your sanity and either do your taxes yourself or have another more reputable business do them for you. I will never go back there and urge anybody and everybody to do the same. RIPOFF BAIT AND SWITCH SWINDLERS. read more

Everything you could possibly imagine that could go wrong did go wrong. Here's a list of things you can expect to happen if you use his services: a) Seldom does he answer his phone at office or cell. Sometimes, he would return calls days and days later if you can leave a message, because his voice mail is always full so good luck. And email is the same way, takes forever to answer you. b) Doesn't respect his customer's time and asks you to sometimes meet him at weird locations (restaurants or at your home) to discuss your account with him. Who in their right mind wants to go to a public restaurant after business hours and spend money to talk about your business and taxes, while strangers can overhear how much you make? c) Expect late fees on your taxes - good luck ever getting your taxes filed on time. d) Unorganized, loses your important documents, leaves other people's tax documents in plain sight all over his office, very unprofessional. He may be knowledgeable in taxes, but he is not certified and if you do not know the difference between hiring a Certified Public Accountant versus hiring a non-certified accountant, look it up first. I am still cleaning up a mess he left me with years ago.

I was at diamond as soon as they opened and was told the system was down which I understood cause thats out of their control. I told the manager Leslie I would be back in a few days to open my account and she kinda steered me away by saying I could return if I "insist" or check out the other branches instead of coming back even though I told her it was closest to my house. I took the message and went to morris and was helped immediately by Meghan. I had a great experience the second time around and even though it's less convenient, I still shy away from diamond and go to the other branches to handle business. Unfortunately diamond didn't seem as welcoming and that was sad to see as a new member to the credit union.
