They are an old-school neighbourhood joint serving the whole range of residents in NDG and have plenty of experience working with small businesses and contractors as well as more typical 9-5 employees. The staff are spunky and honest and they did an excellent job with my taxes. I was very impressed and will be going back. The one down side was that they seemed less comfortable with having digital files, and preferred everything paper (a challenge for those with many documents to submit), but we made it work well and I appreciated their good attitude about it.

I just had a job interview with Mr. Michael Dahan. I already felt uncomfortable with the office…read morebuilding. (it's kind of gross per my standards). Office workers do not wear masks in the elevator. I had to inform two people to wear their masks as I rode the elevator to the 4th floor. I literally got up after sitting down for less than 60 seconds. He is a screamer at first contact. Who screams during an interview? He hovers over people "during a pandemic", he was within a foot of my mouth. Literally standing behind me while I was trying to type. I was scared to ask him if this was an existing client or a new client for 2020, as I "feared" this would trigger a verbal attack. Walking away from this situation was the path of least resistance and the only reasonable response. I had informed him that I was not familiar with DTMAX the day prior to the interview but I had spent six hours studying the USER MANUAL the day before to familiarize myself with the software. I am a seasoned Tax professional, I have been doing taxes for 25 plus years. I have worked in the Tax Department of major CPA offices and public companies for quite some time. I could teach Tax at McGill university!! That's how much I know Tax!!! This review is for people who are starting their professional careers. If you have limited professional experience and have an experience like I just did at MD Tax or anywhere else. I want to let you know, it's not you! Anyone who shows you their worst personality traits within the first 60 seconds of initial contact is only going to make your life miserable. Best to walk away! His office is untidy, consistent with Michael's personal appearance. A cluttered broom closet will be your workspace. To Michael Dahn: Your behavior is unacceptable and inappropriate.
