I never leave reviews but my experience with H&R block been so horrendous that I need to warn others. Filed online using their free product. The virtual system botched my state return. It was rejected and included incorrect personal information, including the wrong social security number. I would have never submitted this information -- everything listed on my federal return was accurate. Went in person because I can't reach a human being via their worthless customer service hotline. The staff at the Shaker Square location, specifically Jenene Jackson, were incredibly unhelpful and dismissive of my issue. They refused to help me unless I paid for the software's error to be resolved. Gave me attitude and insinuated that this situation was somehow my fault. No resolution provided. I should not have to pay for the H&R system's errors. read more

The JH tax agent at this location entered my checking account number incorrectly for the electronic refund. Unfortunately I did not catch it until reviewing my documents later in the evening. Both my Federal and State refunds are now in limbo while I wait for it to 'sort itself' out as JH customer service offered me nothing for this mistake, nor the time I have spent dealing with the State and Federal government. JH's customer service response to the promise of guaranteed accuracy; and what they would do to make this better for me? "Did you receive the gift card offer?" Really? The gift card makes it all better and gets me back dozens of phone calls, hours on hold with agencies, and the delay of funds I should have received within days??? Customer service ultra fail. First and last time for me.

They are/were also known as payroll4construction.com…read more They change their name/email addresses constantly. We have no idea who our account manager is anymore or if we even have one. Now no one there can be held accountable for anything -- very smart, aren't they? Beware if you are a West Coast customer. There is no reaching them during Pacific Standard Time's afternoon normal business hours. If you are going to sell your services nationwide, have a team available during nationwide business hours. Do we get cheaper "support contracts" due to the truncated "support"? Of course not. We also started receiving fines from our state entity AND the IRS because they are depositing our payroll taxes late. Inexcusable. It took them almost a year to figure out how to program a simple electronic certified report required by our state -- again, completely inexcusable. Think you're going to get what you are paying for? Think again. NOW they have eliminated their true online payroll ability (you would need only your browser) and insist that you use a local version on whatever computer you are on via Microsoft Remote Desktop -- its completely buggy and has lost 40% normal functionality. They should have left it IN THE CLOUD where it actually worked. We do not WANT this on our systems, that is why we signed up with your company. Bait and switch. Last straw. Anyone having similar issues with mishandling of your monies or timely payroll tax depositing, report asap to: consumerfinance.gov
