Fermann & Company was the worst accountant I've ever had. They did not carry over some capital…read morelosses from the previous year and did not account for the fact that the Commonwealth of KY does not tax interest income on Treasury Savings Bonds. I found this out because I decided on a firm closer to my home and the new accountant found Fermann & Company errors within 5 minutes of looking at their work. The errors they made amounted to $2962.00 in overpayment on state and federal taxes for that one year. I had to refile that year's return paying the new account for that work. I sent a letter after I received my refund to Fermann & Company telling them of the mistake and asking for a refund of their fee for that year. Fermann & Company ignored my letter. This was most upsetting because if I made a mistake in my profession costing someone money, I would do everything to make it right.

I read the other review and wish I did before filing here. I didn't research this place until it…read morewas too late and the paperwork was filed. What lead me to Google this company was the $400 filing fee and the misleading loan. They offered me a $500 loan. They informed me that I would have a check next day and they would call me to pick it up. After investing over 3 hours while the return was being prepared, they mentioned the $400 filing fee when the return was complete. Wasn't too upset because I was getting $500 of my return earlier than I expected. They never called, placed a call to them and was told nothing was in the system yet and to call again after 8. I called and was told nothing was available yet. After receiving an email at 10pm the night I should have received the $500 loan, I called to ask about the email. I was told the man that did my return put a form in twice causing an error and need to do the return over. They did the second return without me being present, they simply informed me that I had to return to sign the paperwork again. While there I was told everything was good with the loan and paperwork now and that I should call at 8am the following morning to pick up the check. The next morning I called around 10am. Was told that there was nothing in the system. Two days passed and with my return finally being accepted by the IRS they decided to tell me that I wasn't approved for the loan. I do believe this was a scam as the other comment said, I have ready about it from other users online as well. How can they deny a loan when they have your entire tax return as collateral? The environment was very unprofessional. The employees weren't educated in the process very well and had to ask one another for help a few times. It is my belief that the employees took the free HR Block classes and Liberty Tax felt that was viable skill to file customer tax returns. I absolutely will not return here and will share my displeasure with anyone who asks if I have ever used this business to file tax returns.
