I initially reached out to Carey Gay via Yelp after reading the very promising reviews. She…read moreresponded back almost immediately and told me that she could help me navigate taxes for a 1099 position. That was the last time I ever heard from her directly. After the Yelp correspondence, I tried to send an email to set up an appointment to no avail. Thinking perhaps it was just an accidental oversight, I simply went to the Treasure Tax website to schedule an in person meeting with her for Monday of last week. An hour before the appointment, I received a voicemail from one of her colleagues that said their system only erroneously allowed me to make an appointment and that Carey was at a conference all week. He asked me to call back to reschedule, so I set up a virtual appointment for yesterday. Well, I logged in to the Zoom meeting on time and waited 15 minutes in the waiting room after the appointment was supposed to begin prior to calling the number listed on Treasure Tax's website to investigate what the hold up might be. I was connected with an employee that tried to reach out to Carey, but couldn't get ahold of her because she was away from her desk. She informed me that she would try to send a message to let her know I was in the Zoom waiting room, but that was all she could do. Fifteen more minutes elapse and I call again only to speak with a different employee who tells me nearly the exact same thing, only that this time she will URGENTLY tell Carey I've been waiting on her for a meeting that was supposed to start over a half hour before. Carey never signed onto the meeting or called me back. Needless to say, I highly discourage anyone looking for a tax preparer to engage in business with Carey Gay of Treasure Tax due to her lack of professionalism and inability to keep appointments.
