Bad service, don't know how to do customer service, I'm talking about front end Jessica. I was trying to make a payment via their machine and suddenly froze. Which I understand it's just technical issue. I met my tax preparer on Monday around 3.30 PM. And I paid with my credit card which most financial institution follows Easter time equals to 6.30 pm. My credit card transaction history stated as pending means they charge it to my account but still in process! Because all bank mostly needs 3-5 business days to be posted on their account however money taken out from my side which may or may not be posted. So what we have to do just wait. I sent her the screenshot to her work email as proof that money taken out. Wednesday I received a call from Jessica she said back office needs proof that I paid and she mentioned HR block will not file my tax since there is no payment collected! Like seriously money has been taken out from my account as well and I need to wait until financial institutions cleared that. I'm waiting for it and how bout HR Block waiting as well cause it's not up to me not in my control when the payment will be posted. She still insisted there's no payment therefore we won't filled your documents! Seriously! Have a better communication skills to talk to people. It is not your fault the system just stopped working and creates this faulty and what for you talk to me in some tones that like I just want to run away not pay the fees. Midnight the payment posted and I tried to reach her out and she didn't want to pick up the phone call and transfer my call to my tax preparer. My tax consultant Luz asking me what happened and she even mentioned we need to file your tax still. I call customer service 1-800 they even mentioned we need to file your tax still, so what makes her keep mentioning "we will not file your tax" Luz was nice but front end just messed up. One time I made a phone call and asked her to leave a message to Luz. She said yes. She did not even ask what my name until I asked her, do you know my name? She replied Linda. I've always had a thing against tax places due to my childhood of sitting there for hours while my parents sort their taxes. I know that H&R Block usually delivers quality service and takes care of you on the tax return side of things but I gotta say the real MVP in my book is Jan McFarlane. Although I came in a mess with my tax returns from different places and my school and financial aid stuff was all over the place. She was patient with me and helped figure out the best return I could get. She really broke down the science and the math on what would be the most beneficial options for me. Taxes. Who likes doing taxes? Not me. I have always done my own. But this year I had taken some money out of my 401k, no penalty, and I had taxes taken out of the total, but I knew there would be some new issues on my taxes so I figured I should go see someone to help. Jan McFarlane. Remember that name. Write it down. I made an appt. and went in with all my papers in hand. As it turned out I had a pretty hefty amount that will need to be paid. I'm ashamed to say I wasn't very pleasant at hearing the news. I mean, I didn't throw anything...lol...but it wasn't my best day as a fellow human. At EVERY turn, Jan was patient, professional, had the answers to all my questions, she was VERY organized and understood my frustration. Even as I was fraying, she didn't waiver in her desire to continue to help me and lead me thru the issues she knew I needed to know to move forward. She gave me tips for next year, made phone calls to the state franchise tax board - twice - on my behalf. She did "look-backs" on my taxes for 3 years looking for extra money for me. I first tried to use TurboTax online to do my taxes (my first time using it) and the results i got from doing it myself weren't NEAR as good as coming to the H&R Block here in Alhambra. I met with an agent named Jan McFarlane. I would say she was such a wonderful woman. She helped me get my Lifetime Learning Credit for education expenses -- that I didn't even know I could get a credit for. She had such a wonderful heart that I went for an appointment at 8:30 p.m., and the office was supposed to close at 9 p.m., but she sat all the way through and completed the return for me even after the office closed.
