The Country morning breakfast!! Absolutely delicious
Karen H.

We were visiting my niece who recently moved to Michigan and wanted to find a good breakfast place. We certainly found it! Everything from the biscuits and gravy to their homemade baked goods, Amazing! Would highly recommend this quaint restaurant!

Seating area

Doesn't look like much but very famliy friendly great restaurant and bakery besides the point in the bakery a lot of the food has rasins but aside from that great costumer service very quick and kind

I applaud the completeness of the menu cover. Everything but the hours, which likely are seasonal.

Food flavor: 4/5 Table Service from menu ordering:3/5 Table Service Buffet: 2/5. Got one drink refill Buffet choices: 4/5. All the basics but the biscuits were seriously smaller in diameter than a half dollar... Which would not have been an issue except.... Buffet stocking: 2/5. Four items empty each trip, including biscuits after we got a single one to "share".... Layout could use a overhaul as the tables neat the buffet caused patrons to have to weave and shimmy past chairs just to get food. Bathroom cleanliness: 4/5 walls around hand dryer were quite dirty but besides that the floors and counter were clean. Bathroom note: The lack or partitions between urinals is, sadly, not a surprise in a small town. I do not know what is going on with the soap dispenser but it seems like it is 3 parts water to 1 part soap. And the single dispenser for two sinks makes for an awkward issue when two people are trying to wash thier hands at the same time. And for my favorite part of this restaurant!!! STAFF FRIENDLINESS: 5/5!!!

We LOVE the pizza there! It's become a must on our trips up north. Had some donuts the next morning and they were fantastic too!

The pizza is amazing . It has become our regular Saturday night go to. If you have a lot of people to feed try the party pizza.

The owner is passionate about what she does.. Everything is hand made from bread, muffins, to sandwiches and all things in-between sourced directly from local farmers. which we all know the better the ingredients better the food.. As a family ran business the owner focuses on quality of food and great service! The quaint, and quintessential "norman" like atmosphere, you get as you walk in. there is a smile and a heart-filled greeting waiting to making feel like home. I was taken back by everything it was an amazing experience! I know saying this about a restaurant is a little off. BUT I was having a bit of a bad day driving back home to Indiana, like a 5 hr drive.. And I got hungry seeing a sign out front and sick of fast food I stopped for a bite. As I said before, they greeted me with a smile and a warm hello.. Giving me a tall glass of lemonade started making my bad day better.. The food I ordered was outstanding. Fresh veggies and homemade hamburger seasoned just perfect. "With homemade battered mushrooms" Was truly a great experience.. I could not ask for anything more.. This is a must stop or even worth the drive to get to it! Made me feel like I was at the family's house I do like! "LMAO"

Iron Dame Baked Goods - Raspberry Vol au Vent

We were visiting downtown Midland and the Tridge when we came upon Iron Dame. A…read moreFrench-European-style bakery in a small city? Not something that you see too often so we decided to stop by to take a look. It was within an hour of them closing and unfortunately many of the pastries were already sold out. Still, they had a couple of croissants that looked absolutely delicious and we couldn't resist picking some up. In addition to pastries, they also sell coffee and, interestingly enough, milk tea and boba (popping type only I think). I can easily imagine sitting outside, sipping on a drink and nibbling on a pastry. Raspberry Vol au Vent ($5) - Woah, just look at those layers on this pastry. So well defined with crisp, buttery puff pastry layers that are easy to pull apart. This one is filled with a raspberry jam and adorned with a single fresh raspberry in the center. They don't skimp on the jam here - it's absolutely loaded up. The jam is tangy, sweet, and delicious. It's filled with fresh and crunchy raspberry seeds and a brightness that is welcome. (5/5) Bacon & Havarti Croissant ($6) - Other places might put a single thin slice of bacon and cheese inside - Iron Dame fills it chock full with meat and cheese. Salty, savory, umami, everything you could want from a savory croissant. Since there's so much filling, it compresses the croissant dough along the edges making it chewier and more bready, yet still retaining a bit of flakiness. (5/5) Pain Au Chocolat ($5) - The lamination on this pastry isn't nearly as good - the layers are on the thicker side with smaller air bubbles. Definitely more bready than flaky. I'm not sure what happened to this pastry - the pictures on their website shows very well defined layers but this one was anything but. Two batons of chocolate are inserted inside, giving sweetness and richness. I wasn't able to eat this until the following day - since I couldn't eat it fresh, I won't include it in my overall rating. This particular pastry is something around a 3/5 though. It looks like they don't have a set menu (at least not what I can see from their website), so I would definitely drop by with an open mind to see what they are offering that day! I would come here again if I lived in Midland or if I was in the area. Yum! Bathrooms - Single unisex room. Overall rating of the food this visit: 5/5
