I don't know if management changed or…read morewhat, but it has been my favorite grocery store in the Dyer County area for the last couple of years. The meat and produce are fresh and the selection of food is impressive for a small, local grocer. It can be a little pricey but they offer great deals and they buy and sell local grown whenever possible. They also bag your groceries and help you to your car if you want. The deals I have found generally offset the higher costs of other items, so between that and gas I figure I break even and probably even save some money most of the time. The staff and management are friendly and knowledgeable and I am always greeted several times by staff during every shopping experience. Senior discount day is Wednesday so plan accordingly and always check expiration dates. This is my biggest complaint about shopping here. The don't always pull expired products and if you aren't careful, you will go home having purchased an expired item. It doesn't happen all the time, but it has happened a few times to me over the years, especially with processed sandwich meats. Finally, they have many addictive bakery items so treat with caution. I have never had a better carrot cake than theirs and I don't even generally care for carrot cake. Most of their bakery and deli items are delicious, and believe me, I've tried them all!

I can honestly say the pot pie was one of the better ones I've had in my life and I hate to admit that I'm almost 45 years old so I've had a lot of pot pie and I'm a good judge on this topic. The tomato soup was delicious. It threaded that needle on not being super heavy, but also being creamy. The only thing that could've been better is the tea selection since it's a tea room. I'm coming from Metropolitan areas and most recently from the San Francisco Bay area. My recent visits to tea rooms in that area, Columbia Kate's in gold rush country California, Charleston, North Carolina establishments and other areas has been a selection of teas, including proudly blended proprietary teas of the establishment. At this location, I was provided with a basket of Bigelow teabags to choose from. I'm finding that this is the normal to be expected in rural south so I'm not going to downgrade them for this on yelp stars. But they could differentiate themselves by participating in a tea offering that is better than what you can get at your local grocery and drugstore.

Many times I've met up with friends here or taken my girlfriend on coffee dates. I love their caramel iced coffee and (I know it sounds odd) their French fries. Yes, their French fries are probably some of the best in town. In addition, the sweets they offer are absolutely delicious. This is a great coffee shop, and it very much deserves to be the local favorite that it is! In addition, it is a family friendly establishment and a community friendly establishment.
