DNI is a great, solid place to study tango in Buenos Aires. I started tango in BsAs back in 2007,…read moreand at this point, and especially as a follower, I find I get a lot more out of 1 private class than I do out of 10 group classes. So, I didn't take any group classes here, but I did 2 weeks of privates. They have a great system for this: you take a 1 hour private class, then the next two days your private classes are actually called "private practicas" and you keep practicing the concepts that came up in your class as it takes time and practice to be able to do them and examine the techniques from various angles and with various dancers. Then your fourth day would be a new private class, and you can bring up any theme you want to work on or continue/deepen what you were already working on. I LOVE that everyday is with a different instructor - I found it really helpful to work on the same topic with different people who have different ways of explaining the same thing. Obviously every instructor has a slightly different style, but DNI has them all teaching similar style overall. Every instructor was nice, clear and fun to learn from as well. For private classes you will be sharing rooms with others doing privates, but I remember once I wanted to work on dancing the milonga rhythm, and they said we could find a space where we could play that type of music if need be. It is also easy to arrange your schedule and classes by email before arriving. Again, this is a great, solid place for studying tango privately at reasonable prices. It's also nice to study at various schools and with various teachers throughout BsAs, but if you're looking for a home base, this is a great place. They also sell clothes, shoes, and have a snack bar.
