We came to Gönül Hani Restaurant as a pit stop prior to getting on the highway to drive home after our visit to Pamukkale. I'm glad that we chose Gönül Hani to stop at since the food turned out to be delicious!
The Food:
- Pita/ Cheese Starters: The Pita here is so good, you can tell it's authentic and made on-site since it comes out hot! They provided goat cheese and butter to accompany the pita bread which we inhaled with just a few bites.
- Coban Salad: Probably my favorite salad to get in Turkey. The tomatoes are extremely fresh and some of the tastiest I've had on my trip.
- Eggplant Plate: I don't know how much butter they put into this dish but the result was soft, charred, eggplant with an exceedingly pleasant smokey flavor.
- Adana Kebab: One of Turkey's classic meat kebabs. The kebab was cooked to perfection and just as spicy as I would expect Adana to come.
Overall had a very pleasant experience! Service was great (they even let us take the complimentary leftover pitas home) and the prices were extremely cheap (compared to what I'm used to in New York at least). Would definitely recommend stopping here on the way to/from Pamukkale- it's right off the highway! read more
