We were therefore delighted to be able to return a month ago, this time to stay as well as dine. Being a Sunday (and just out of season) we were the hotel's sole residents. At dinner we also dined alone. This could have felt awkward. However, our charming host provided just the right level of service making the evening feel special rather than odd. The food remained excellent - simple but beautifully prepared and the wine list read like a greatest hits of all of the region's top names. Our room was also perfectly pleasant with plenty of space to relax and a good sized balcony for al fresco lounging.
