I felt we had left on bad terms after our first visit 12 months ago. After thoroughly enjoying our lunch (including a ludicrously generous cheese course) we had had to rush away to keep at an appointment at one of the many nearby vigneron rather than linger over a digestif. We were therefore delighted to be able to return a month ago, this time to stay as well as dine.
Being a Sunday (and just out of season) we were the hotel's sole residents. At dinner we also dined alone. This could have felt awkward. However, our charming host provided just the right level of service making the evening feel special rather than odd. The food remained excellent - simple but beautifully prepared and the wine list read like a greatest hits of all of the region's top names.
Our room was also perfectly pleasant with plenty of space to relax and a good sized balcony for al fresco lounging. Free WiFi was on hand to keep you connected with the rest of the world - a big plus. So nice in fact that a return visit is now looking more than likely in another 12 months or so. read more
