Reserving a room for two through booking dot com you don't get a hard choice between twin and double but you get the option to specify your preference. I booked five or six weeks in advance and out of season and my request wasn't honoured. For this reason alone I probably won't be staying here again, at least not when travelling two people together, and I'd probably rate it one star higher if it hadn't been for this.
To be fair the room was clean and the staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast is served daily but must be ordered the night before at the latest - at 4 euros per person you get a fairly decent breakfast buffet, especially considering the price. Of course this isn't gourmet food, but I doubt you'll find a much better alternative nearby at less than 10 euros, so unless you're really picky I'd take the offer.
Less ideal were the too hard for my comfort mattress, the creaky floors and stairs, and the rather thin walls that almost lets you eavesdrop on your neighbours conversation - and expect to notice when a group of kids run to or from the dorm on the top floor. It's fairly quiet at night, though, with no major traffic nearby, and luckily it seemed our sleep-schedule matched that of our neighbours so we managed to sleep through the night.
All in all I'd recommend this place if you're on a budget and want to stay in a good location, especially if you aren't as picky as I about whether it's two single or one double bed, or if you're staying in a differently sized room or a dorm.
